My school memories

  • My first day at school

I went for first time to school when I was 4 years old. I entered Foundation 2 in the British School of Lanzarote. I remember that the first activity I did was drawing a sandcastle, and instead of colouring it yellow, I coloured it with a black pencil.
  • Year 1

I finished my pre-school and I started Primary in Year 1. I remember this year because I read for first time with my teacher Miss. Bucket.
  • Year 2

Year 2 was my second year of Primary, and I have lots of good memories about this school year. I remember having my first comprehension exam, which I passed. I also remember doing a project about The Fire of London, where we did a theatre and sang the song “London’s burning”.
  • Year 3

This was my favourite school year ever. We learned how to multiply, we played lot’s of games and we had the best teacher: Mr. Roberts. He was born in Australia, and he always bought us lots of typical things from his country. I remember that we all cried a lot when he told us he was leaving at the end of the year to Saudi Arabia.
  • Year 4

In Year 4 everything changed, I moved to Valencia and I swapped school to Los Olivos English School, in a región called ‘Godella’. I made really good friends there and I had a great time.
  • Year 6

Unfortunately, in Year 6 I had to move back to Lanzarote, rejoining the British School of Lanzarote. At first I felt a bit sad and I missed my other school, but at the end I started to feel much better.
  • Year 7

In 2013 I started Year 7, which meant that I had finished Primary and I was about to join Secondary School. I was used to having the same teacher, Mrs. Morris, teaching us everything, but in Year 7 we had one teacher for every subject. This year was very special for me because I did my first school trip. We went to a place called Kingswood Valley, in Manchester, for a week. There, we did plenty of activities inside and outside, and visited cities like York or Leeds. We had a great time!
  • Year 8

Year 8 was my last year at the British School, though I started to think I needed a new challenge. Even though it was a really boring year, we did a great trip in December to La Molina, Girona. La Molina was an enormous ski resort where we all had a great great time, and where I learned how to ski properly. This trip was an incredible experience, and is one of the best moments I carry with me from the British School.
  • 2nd ESO

In 2015, I swapped the British School for IES Teguise. It was my first time in a Spanish-learning school, and even though it was a big change, I had a good time and made a lot of new friends. Unfortunately, I didn’t put a big effort in it. I felt like that educational system of only studying one afternoon per week and doing nothing the rest of the time wasn't suiting me, so me and my mum decided to change school again and move to Santa María de los Volcanes.
  • 3rd ESO

    3rd ESO
This was my first school year here, and when I entered I didn’t know much people. I remember the first person that came and said “Hi” to me was Alejandro Peraza, and after that I started knowing much more people. After I adapted to the school and made more friends, I started enjoying my time here. I think my favourite moment of the year was when we went to the ‘Convivencias 2016’ because spending a whole day with my classmates permitted me knowing some people which I hadn’t talked to before.
  • 4th ESO

After 10 years of going to school, I’m facing 4oESO, my last year of school before doing my A-Levels. This has been my favourite year in school so far, I’ve known better a lot of people which I didn’t expect to be friends with when I entered school, and I’ve had great moments with my classmates ever since the school year started.
It is being a way harder year that what I expected, but I think I’m doing a good job.
  • Aladdin Musical

In 2 weeks time, we will be performing the musical ‘Aladdin’. I will take the part of ‘Old Jafar’ even though I first applied for the young one. Despite this, I’m really looking forward to this experience though I have sacrificed a lot of study time to rehearse my scenes and do it the best as possible.
