  • My birth

    My birth
I have two loving parents and 4 siblings which I am very close to. I was brought up by my christian parents who possess strong morals and values which would help me as I grew throughout life.

  • My diagnosis

    My diagnosis
In 2005 I was diagnosed with leukemia. As a child I didn't really understand that my life was at risk or the impact it had on my family. All in all it made my family grow closer and stronger and for that I am greatful.
  • My first big trips

    My first big trips
At age 10 the genies from the Make a Wish foundation granted my first wish to go to Disneyland. Then again the following year another organization presented me the opportunity to go to Orlando Florida and experience Disney World. Throughout my journey of being sick I met strong and inspiring people and had wonderful opportunites offered to me and for that I am eternally thankful.
  • Remission

    Remission
Going into remission was a very happy and nervous time for me. Now that I was completely healed I was able to go back to school. I hadn't been to actual school in 2 years and soon I was going to start 5th grade. When I returned to school I was made fun of because of my short boyish hair. It never personally affected me because I knew those kids didn't really know my situation.
  • Highschool

    Highschool
High school was a very big part of my life and it affected me in so many ways. I made many friends who I became very close to and made my high school experience what it was. At this time in my life I became a outgoing and social person.
  • The dissapointment

    The dissapointment
It's no lie when they say that the people you surround yourself with influence you. Hanging out with the people I did caused me to fall behind in school and eventually my decisions led me to not being able to graduate with my class. Breaking the news to my parents was very heartbreaking for both of us because we both knew that they did not raise me in the direction that my life was going.
  • Pregnancy

    Pregnancy
Last year in August I was given the news from my doctor that I was pregnant. I was scared for my life and I had no idea how to tell my parents. Being christian I believe that abortion is not right so that wasn't even a option for me, I had to deal with the results of my choices. Thankfully my parents and boyfriend were very supportive so now we are awaiting for the birth of our baby girl.
  • Melissa's departure

    Melissa's departure
Just right after I got the news about being pregnant my best friends Melissa broke the news to me that her and her family were moving to Colorado. I was very sad because in this time we both needed the support and friendship of each other since we were both pregnant. She had been the only friend that was really there for me throughout high school and after. We remain very close to this day and I am awaiting for her return this month.
  • Volunteering at the library

    Volunteering at the library
My first volunteer job at the Pendergast library has been a very awesome opportunity for me. I've always enjoyed libraries, books, and children. Just to know that eventually this can become a official job brings me happiness.
  • Starting Primavera

    Starting Primavera
Starting Primavera has been such a positive impact on my life. Being able to do school online and work at my own pace is extremely great. My goal is to be done with school by the time the baby is born or shortly after. With primavera I feel I can make that happen if I keep focused and motivated.
