Early Childhood
As a young child one of my favourite times of the day was storytime. My parents and I would snuggle into my bed and read countless books until I fell asleep. Even as a young child I had already begun to memorize what they were reading to me and would reguritate it back to them as if I were reading the story to them. -
Kindergarten
During this time I was living in Windsor, Ontario and my parents decided to put me into French Immersoon. I picked up the language quickly, as most young children are able to, however since my parents did not know how to speak the langauge, I learnt qucikly to read french childrens books on my own - which was very helpful at the time. -
Grade 2
During this time my family and I were living in Barrie, Ontario and unfortunately they did not have a French immersion program so I was put back into the regular public school system. Unfortunately I was unable to keep up with my French and till this day have very little knowledge of the lanaguage. It took awhile for me to adjust to not speaking the language at school and during this time I struggled with my reading and writing.
