    Joined Choir
Choir is very near and dear to my heart. I've been singing ever since i was finally able to talk, which wasn't till the year prior. I have been in for 9 and a half years so far.
  • Played Princess Jasmine in Aladdin for School Musical

Played Princess Jasmine in Aladdin for School Musical
I've always been in drama and choir. When I got my first lead role, it was Princess Jasmine. It was important to me because my mom said that I'll never be smart or good enough to do anything since I was in special ed as a child. She always brought that up and it was so annoying. She even would throw away my songs I wrote because "they are trash and that's where they belong." I never wrote again, I've tried but never the way I used to.
  • Got the Juliet Thorner Award

    Got the Juliet Thorner Award
In 6th grade, my last year at Mt. Vernon, I got the Juliet Thorner Award
  • I got appendicitis

    I got appendicitis
During the summer between 6th and 7th grade, I got appendicitis and got my appendix taken out. It was very dangerous, if they didn't get it out quickly it could of burst and might of died or in critical condition, so I was told at least. It was also dangerous because i'm so small and if they hit any other organ near the area they might of punched it so it took about 3 hours in surgery instead of 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Joined Colorguard

    Joined Colorguard
My sister taught me some stuff on flag so when I got a chance to join I took it. This will be my 4th year in guard. I love it and can't imagine not being able to be in it.
  • My 14th Birthday

It was just another birthday party until my mom invites her boyfriend to come. It was the first time my sister and I met him and it was also the day she moved him in. They only dated a week before this and we didn't even know she was dating. There has never been a guy living with us and all of a sudden there was. He was fine at first, a little moody but no big deal. We ended up seeing less and less of our mom and she started to act different. They always fought and she would take it out on us.

  • Joined Cheer and Competition Cheer

    Joined Cheer and Competition Cheer
During the summer going into freshman year, I tried out for cheer and made the team. After Football season, I tried out for the competition team and made that to. Cheer itself wasn't the most important thing to me, but the people on the team was. They helped me get though a lot and without them I don't know how i could of kept it together the last couple months of school.
  • Raised a Swine for Fair

    Raised a Swine for Fair
We got our pigs in the beginning of June and raised them till Fair time. The reason why this is important to me is because at this time my mother was never home and my sister and I were left home alone. We only saw our mother maybe once week. Nobody really knows where she always went for sure but she claimed she was working, but I don't know anyone that can work for 3 straight days at a time.
  • Started High School at Foothill High

Started High School at Foothill High
  • Got into GATE classes

Getting into a GATE class was a big deal to me. Since I was in special ed before, my mom told me I would never be smart or good at anything. I've proved her wrong on being good at something, but never proved to her that I was smart. I ended up being the first person in my entire family to be in a GATE class and I ended up being in 3. I had to drop Biology last year though because I was in FFA so I had to take an Ag class and got Ag Earth Science, but i did get GATE English and Geometry
  • Started to Live with My Grandparents

My mother was very abusive, both physically and emotionally. When my Grandpa and step Grandma, Tish, found out how bad it really was, they let us stay with them. They ended up filing for custody of my sister and I. We then began a lengthy process and my sister turned 18 before the case was over. They then were fighting to get me and in doing so I met my father for the first time. He needed to sign papers for the case and he thankfully complied.
  • Grandparents Became Legal Guardians

After what felt like forever, they finally were able to get custody of me and for that I am so grateful.
  • Transferred to RHS

    Transferred to RHS
Since I live on this side of town now, I had to transfer. The thing I miss most about Foothill is Mrs. West. She was the only person I talked to about what was going on and the reason I am okay sharing it with certain people. She helped me so much and I feel so bad that she had to listen to me cry about it all the time. I kept on a brave face for everyone else though so nobody knew that it was even happening. I hate talking about feelings so it was a big step for me.
