    The Birth of Matthew Gunn

On August 25, 2003, Matthew Gunn was born at 4:45 PM. I was born to Mike and Dawn Gunn as the third child. I have two older brothers, Jake and Aaron, and I am the baby of the family. My parents tell me I was a perfect baby, and that I seldom cried. However, I did have a slight issue with biting everything I could get my stubby little baby-hands on.

    The Early Years

From the time I entered the world to the age of 5, much of my life is shrouded in mystery. I was but a helpless creature at said time, requiring full assistance from my parents in order to commence the everyday events of life. I was a handsome babe, with bright baby-blue eyes and a big teething smile. I enjoyed such activities as adventuring, eating, crying, sleeping, and laughing. My parents were so happy with me that I would be the last child they would bring forth into the enigma of creation.

    Sweet Victory

My first real taste of success was experienced on this day. In the small town of Birmingham, there was an annual baby beauty pageant for the 4th of July parade. My parents naturally entered me into said pageant, and I won in fantastic fashion. It was said that no baby stood a chance against my charming youthful looks, and that my smile was the best firework of the whole parade. This rise to stardom in the modeling world proved to much for me however, and I swiftly retired while I was ahead.

    Beginning My Academic Career

Shortly after my 5th birthday, it was time for me to beginning the next chapter in my life. I was enrolled at the prestigious institute of Our Shepherd Birmingham Preschool, where I began to flourish in knowledge. I made lots of friends in preschool, and really was able to express myself for the first time in my life. I was a creative and bubbly little fellow who enjoyed arts-and-crafts and sports. I also had a deep passion for dinosaurs!

    Elementary Years

From preschool to 5th grade I continued my pursuit of knowledge. I also began to play sports, such as baseball and basketball. I tried my hand at football and track, but I simply was not cut out for these tasks. I excelled in my studies and put up impressive grades in my early years of school. I have been told that I was very wise for my years, and that I displayed excellent character at such a young age.

    Chess Champion

As a chess prodigy, I really began to see success in second grade. I was undefeated against all second graders, and I tied with Hope Techlin for second grade chess champion. I continued playing chess until fifth grade when we started to have to document our moves. This proved too difficult for me, and I promptly quite chess because I did not want to do this extra work. I ended my career at 57-3, with those three loses due to the other person most likely cheating to beat me.

At the age of 9 I was already a world champion. My little league baseball team managed to go undefeated in the regular season and didn't lose a single game in the playoffs. I was the team's shortstop and first baseman, but I was best known for hitting absolute missiles at the plate. In the championship game, we were down by one run. I With a runner on second, I knocked in the tying run, and my good buddy then hit me in to win the game.

    Travel Baseball Career

I figured it was time for a step up from little-league baseball, and I decided to join a travel baseball team. I was no longer the best kid out there, and my team, The Avery Allstars, really wasn't that good. However, I made a lot of friends and had a lot of fun. I eventually changed positions as well and became the best catcher of all time. I am known as a brick wall behind the plate, and it was said that I had one of the best pop-times in the state at age 14.

    Middle School

I attended grades 6 through 8 at Our Shepherd Lutheran School. My class had around 12 kids in it, and I am still good friends with 6 of them! I was a stellar student who excelled in the field of math, but not so much literature. I graduated as the salutatorian behind Abigail Swanson who was somehow nerdier than I was. After middle school, I planned on going on to Lutheran High School Northwest with my friends Zach Shore, Luke Lanier, Hannah Ewing, and Carly Hodgeman.

4th Place in the National Tournament

The Our Shepherd Lutheran Basketball team placed 4th in the National Tournament at Valparaiso University. This was the 7th and 8th grade team, but I was along for the ride as a 6th grader. I did not play a whole lot, but it was still a really cool experience. Throughout the tournament I scored 0 points, had 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in four games. Personally, I think these are stellar stats and really show how I was able to distribute the ball to my teammates.

    High School

I began my high school career as a very tiny freshman. My older brother was a junior at the time, so he was able to show me around and I quickly became friends with his buddies. I also found a group of friends in my class and the 10 of us are all still good pals as seniors. I played basketball and baseball at NW, and I even tried my hand at cross country and football. My final goal is to now become the valedictorian to prove to my parents that I am the best child they have.

On my 14th birthday, my parents bought me a skateboard. I used it almost every day and learned a lot of tricks on it. I still ride today, and I am not terrible. Upon entering any skatepark, I make my presence know with my unique trick selection and unparalleled style. I am also undefeated in games of S.K.A.T.E., with my finisher being the dreaded double-flip.

    Trying Out Cross-Country

Going into high school, I was not planning on playing a fall sport. However, one of my older brother's friends named Ethan Rice convinced me to run Cross-Country with him. I instantly began to make progress in the sport, and by the end of the year, I was running some pretty good times. I fell in love with the sport, and I would run 6 days a week. I got faster and faster, and Cross-Country quickly became my best sport.

Today was a big day! For the first time in school history, the Cross-Country team actually won something. During the conference finals at Oakland Christian, the team ran the best race of their life and were able to finish in 1st place! We just barely got the victory over Sheryl Stockwell, beating them out by one point. This was in pinnacle of my running career, and I then retired from the sport after this fantastic performance.
  • Car Crash :(

    Car Crash :(

This was the day that the world tried to stop me. Upon driving home from work, the car in front of me slid out, and I was able to stop in time, but the Chevy Malibu behind me was not. The Malibu rear-ended me, and the kid who hit me was on parole. The police came and told me that his insurance would pay for the accident, and that I could go home. I drove home in the same car, and left the kid on parole in a parking lot with the officer and his totaled car.

    New Wheels

After hours of hard work at school, my dad told me I could lease a cool car for my senior year. I ended up leasing a Mustang GT. This baby has 460 horsepower and is a manual. I have gotten very good at driving said car, and I am striving to be an amateur drifter. This car brings me immense happiness, and I plan on stealing this car from Ford and keeping it as my own. I plan on doing this by claiming insurance fraud, saying that the car caught on fire, but in reality it is at my friends house.
  • Football Time

    Football Time

At the start of the my senior year, I decided it was time to give football another try. My only previous experience with the sport was in second grade, where I played with the Berkeley Steelers and then quite because I hated football. However, all of my friends convinced me to play, and I was actually not terrible. In my short career of one season, I led the team in sacks with a whopping total of four. Our team even won a playoff game for the second time in school history!
  • Going Bald

    Going Bald

This is the dreaded day when I decided to shave all of my hair off. I thought this look would make me appear tougher, but in reality I now just look like an egg. This was a crucial mistake on my part, and even my girlfriend thinks it looks bad. However, I have been told that I now look exactly like my oldest brother, Jake Gunn. Jake is a doctor so I must be doing something right.
