  • First Piano Lessons…at 4 years old

When I was 4 years old, my parents and my grandmother noticed that I really liked listening to classical music. My grandmother told my parents that a piano teacher lived down the street from her, and that he gave lessons from his home for a few kids. I started taking lessons and fell in love with the piano. I took lessons from him until sixth grade, when he had to retire due to medical issues. Our families had become really close, always exchanging gifts and cards on holidays.
  • First Day of Kindergarten…and Last Day of Kindergarten

My first day of Kindergarten was nothing like it should have gone. For many, it was the first day of school in their lives, but I had gone to a private preschool the previous year. During my first day, my teacher had noticed that I was more advanced than my peers, I knew how to read and write well, and I even knew some addition and subtraction. The principal had me take a test that afternoon once everyone had gone home. The next day, I found out I had tested out of Kindergarten, and started 1st.
  • First Time on a Plane

The first time I was on a plane was when my parents and I went to Las Vegas to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had traveled before, but never on a plane. Unfortunately, I didn't get go meet the pilot or go in the cockpit like many children get to do on their first flight. I love Las Vegas, we went to the kid friendly hotels, and I got to see a magician for the first time in my life.
  • Worst Father's Day Ever

The Father's Day of 2004 was one of the worst days of my life. That was the day that my dad had to go to the hospital because he was having a lot of pain. While he was waiting in the waiting room for someone to see him, his appendix ruptured, and had to be rushed into surgery. I almost lost him that day, and I didn't fully understand what was going on that day. I was really scared and confused, I had never had something that traumatic happen to me before.
  • Travel to Mexico City

After finishing middle school, my parents told me they wanted to take me on a trip to celebrate. I had always wanted to go to Mexico City since that is where my dad went to medical school, so I can see where he studied, and meet the people they befriended while he was there. My experience in Mexico City was unforgettable. I fell in love with the city, and can't wait to go back. I got to meet my parent's friends, learn a lot of history, and have a lot of fun.
  • First Time Canvassing

    First Time Canvassing
I have been interested in politics from a very young age. I remember persuading my parents to vote for John Kerry in 2004, and John McCain in 2008. One day, we went to the graduation party of the son of a family friend. I talked to him and his sisters, who have been interns for many politicians, including Gabby Giffords. I told them of my interest in politics and helping the candidates I support get elected. They invited me to go canvassing with them, and I got to meet a few of the candidates!

  • Teen Court Attorney Training

One summer, I decided to join the Teen Court program because I was interested in the legal field, but wasn't sure if I wanted to become a lawyer. Even though being a Teen attorney is different than a real attorney, the experience has really helped me. I have learned a lot of how the legal system works, and have been able to speak with current lawyers and judges who give me advice on what I should do to be able to go to law school and be a great lawyer.
