My Father went to jail when I was 3
On February 13th,2002 my dad went to jail. It was hard for a three year old to understand what was really going on. My dad wasn't really in my life much from the beginning and by far not the greatest influence to me, but he was my dad and I loved him. He has gotten out since then and not much has really changed. I have only spoken to him once since he got out in February of 2008. I am hoping that things will change soon and I can see him again. -
I moved to Arizona
A new life began for my family and I on May 16th, 2006. We took the big move from California to Arizona and since then its been such an amazing experience. It has been a better life for everyone in my family, it gave us a new start to life and became a weight lifted off of my mom and grandparents back. We are all so thankful to this day for this opportunity to be worry free. -
my first pair of hearing aids
This meant everything and was quite the news to find out that I would be able to get them. My hearing isn't completely gone or really close to it, I am at about 50% hearing and 50% loss. This helped me in so many areas of my life by gaining friendships with people like me, doing better in sports and doing outstandingly better in school. -
I met my best friend
I met my best friend on August 6th, 2008. Her name is Alexis Elaine Montez, she has been my best friend for a little over 6 years now, I wouldn't take back any of it. She has been one of the biggest blessings in my life and if you asked me the top 5 most important people in my life she is one of them. If it wasn't for her I am not quite sure I would be here right now so I have every reason in the world to thank her for everything. -
My mom got married.
My mom made the choice to get married on April 20th, 2012. My family, not just myself, has no respect for him. Her marriage has ruined many family relationships and even friendships. He is very disrespectful to my mom and myself, I don't approve of it. He is also very selfish and has no cares of anyone else's feelings. My mom and I had a great relationship and now its just kind of avoided and pushed away, I feel like. It was definitely a negative event in my life and still continues to affect us -
My brother was born
This might just be the only good thing my step dad has done. My brother, Codey Shae McGrath, was born on November 27th, 2012, he is my world and I am so grateful to be his sister. Codey is such a joy to take care of and is an awesome learner! He brought in a positive side to my step dad coming around, showing that good doesn't always come first and you may just have to wait for it. -
I got really depressed
It was no secrete as to why I became this way February of 2013, I just could not control it. I got out of a horrible relationship with someone that should have never happened, my mom getting married and going into a high school where it was no where near comfortable for me. I felt that everything was just pulling me down and I could not find a good side to anything. I tried counseling and that didn't really help, it was just something I had to sort of do on my own and get support and just eventu -
I started watching Our2ndLife on YouTube
Discovering O2l on July 17th,2013 has saved me and to say that YouTube videos saved me probably needs some explanation. Well here is why, they are just 6 boys who lived 6 ordinary lives just like me. They took a turn for the worst at some point or maybe even most of their lives. They found YouTube and eventually made a channel together, they know what its like to be in your spot and they also know that when your life is at its worst possible point that its not the end of it. -
I got baptized
Well I choose the date October 19th,2014 to get baptized because it was actually one of my favorite YouTubers birthdays. I felt that the reason I was even at the point of getting baptized was because of him and so it was sort of like a dedication. I have been attending church my whole life just never really took interest and I was always wondering why it was important. My friend Dallas took me to high school service at the church (CCV) I was attending since 8th grade year and it clicked. -
I was reunited with someone
On November 13th,2014 I reunited with my internet best friend, We became friends though twitter because of both connecting though O2l. The first time I met her was actually August 13th, 2014 at Digi Tour, so it was exactly 3 months later which was really cool. But we had been planning this concert before we event met the first time so it was so fun and exciting and we were happy it was finally happening. I will for sure be hanging out with her more if she is going to officially move closer. -
I started at Primavera
I have been wanting to do online since my freshman year when everything went down hill. My mom never really felt that I had the motivation to and that I would become even more depressed from it. This year I became involved in Link Crew, Student Council and on top of that honors classes. It became far too overwhelming and stressful for my mom and myself. I am much happier now able to do what I like to do instead of pleasing other people and on my own time. I feel more comfortable doing online now
