Birth
I was born on a cold winter night in Danville, IL at 9:08 pm. I weighed eight pounds and four ounces and was 20 inches long. I was born without the ability to cry. The doctor had to open my tear ducts. -
First Day of School
I remember leaving for the first day of school from my grandma's house, where the bus picked me up. I was a little nervous, but at the end of the day I was scared. My mother told me to go home on bus eight, Pooh Bear, but the school sent me on my brothers' bus. When I got off the bus my mom grabbed me and held me very tightly because she was worried when I didn't get off bus eight. After she got me and my brothers home she went to talk to the school very upset. -
My Father's Death
My father died when I was ten years old. Three months before his death he told my brothers and me that he had throat cancer and the doctors gave him about six months to live, which he clearly didn't have. He gave us each an old coin. I got a nickle from 1910 and a quilt his mother made. I only saw him once more before his funeral and he was skin hanging on bones. -

Moved to Colorado
I had to do a lot to prepare for this move. I had to complete a ton of paperwork to get my teaching license approved, get a job, pack my old house, drive over fifteen hours, and unpack in my new house. After I got settled in at my new house, I had to learn how to drive in a new busy city. Then, I had to meet my new colleagues and students at a new school, Arvada K8. I miss the people at my old school, but I hope to do well and make great relationships with teachers, parents and students.
