    My Life

  • Younger sister, Jackie, was born (Psychosocial)

Jackie is a year and a half younger than I am, and we are also pretty close.
  • First day of school (Cognitive)

Our first school was Roosevelt Elementary School in Livonia, where we attended until the fifth grade, when we transferred to St. Genevieve Catholic School in Livonia until we graduated from there in the eighth grade.
  • Started gymnastics (Biosocial)

My twin and I did gymnastics for nine years, so it was a large part of our lives. We started out at the Livonia YMCA and eventually, joined the high school team, where we ended the sport our sophomore year.
  • Moved (Psychosocial)

We moved houses because the three of us all shared one bedroom, and at ten years old, my sisters and I couldn't hold out for much longer, so we found a bigger house that would accomodate three soon-to-be teenagers, and this house just happened to be five minutes away from Stevenson High School, which we later attended.
  • Started high school (Cognitive)

As I stated previously, we did attend Stevenson High School in Livonia, and graduated there four years later, in the spring of 2011.
  • First job: babysitting (Psychosocial)

My dad and twin, Kelly, are both weightlifters, and they train everyday in the makeshift weightlifting gym in our garage, and in the winter, the basement. Our dad is actually her coach. So we have other lifters my dad is friends with come over and train on the weekends, and one friend, Jill, is a mom who needed someone to watch her five-year-old while she trained. And thus, I started my first, albeit "unofficial" job.
  • Stared Track and Field (Biosocial)

After I quit gymnastics, I discovered track and field, which became my new hobby. I did track until I graduated high school. It was a fun three years, I still run from time to time to bring back the memories.
  • Graduated high school (Cognitive)

When I started high school at Stevenson, I seriously thought this day would never come. Not because I did badly in school or anything, but just because the school days were too long, and the summers were too short. Every summer felt like the blink of an eye, and every school day seemed to take forever. I mostly just didn't like waking up at the crack of dawn, unlike in college, where I can make my own schedule, which includes online classes for further convenience. High school was great, though.
  • MSU (cognitive)

The fall of my freshman year of college, I attended MSU, for two main reasons. One, it was an accomplishment to get in, and two, my parents and I wanted me to get out of the house and start living. Unfortunately, it wasn't my "fit," because I only attended for one semester. I had a hard time adjusting to living away from home, with a roommate, in a dorm room the size of a matchbox, with a bathroom and showers down the hall, and I felt like I lost my privacy. But mostly, my grades were a problem.
  • Second job: MSU cafeteria (psychosocial)

Luckily, there were positives to MSU. I got a job in my neighborhood cafeteria, West Circle, and worked in my building and the one next door, both dorm buildings with the two neighborhood cafeterias on the main floor. I made a ton of friends, and had a lot of fun. I actually met my boyfriend, and although we're not together anymore, that was just another aspect of MSU that made it exciting and fun. This is also where I gained experience to propel me into my next job I got when I moved back home.
  • Moved back home/attended Schoolcraft (psychosocial/cognitive)

As I stated previously, I moved back home over winter break and started attending Schoolcraft for the winter semester. The main reason I left MSU was because, basically, there were too many distractions there and my grades showed that, so it was for the best that I moved back home to get my head on straight. Although I admit, it was probably the hardest thing I ever had to do, I do not regret it at all. I started at Schoolcraft with a 4.0 and found my way again.
  • Third job: California Pizza Kitchen (psychosocial)

I had moved back home, and had an extensive amount of free time while attending Schoolcraft, so my mom suggested I get another job, since I loved my last one so much. I readily agreed. So I found myself at the California Pizza Kitchen at Twelve Oaks Mall, working as a hostess. I met my new best friends, Kara and Nicole, who introduced me to going clubbing. We have had a couple of good times since we became good friends. I worked there for a long time, ten months.
  • Fourth job: Mitchell's Fish Market (psychosocial)

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. The higher-ups at the California Pizza Kitchen decided that the company needed to save money, so everyone, including myself, got a pay cut. Although I got a portion of the servers' tips, as a hostess, I really didn't see it justified to go from 7.40 + tips down to 5.65 + tips, especially since the tips were negligible. So I, along with a number of others, left, and I found myself at the Mitchell's Fish Market, where I actually got a raise.
  • Got accepted into U of M Dearborn as a transfer student (Cognitive)

Right around the time I got my new job, I received a call congratulating me on my admittance into the University of Michigan Dearborn, where I will continue my education in the fall of 2013 and continue to pursue my dream of becoming a Physician Assistant.
