i was born in italy, on january 29th 1868. (1st child of 4)

i came to ellis island when i was 13 years old with my mom and dad. i am the oldest of 4 kids.

my father gets a job working on railroads and leaves home for monthes at a time leaving me my mother and my brothers and sisters.

my mother has to make money to prepare for me and my siblings, but soon enough i will have to get a job too. so my mother got me a job at the clothing factory with her.

my mother was smoking as the was working and she flicked her ashes on the clothing and a fire started. people were jumping out the windows but my mom wasnt quick enogh, so she didnt make it. after that incident they made things more safe.

my father died. he died while he was working on the roof of a tall building. he was reaching for a hammer and slipped. i guess things happen for a reason?

my mother and father had passed away and now i must take care of my brothers and sister. it was a handful considering we where living with 13 other people.

the home was terrible there where RATS everywhere eating the meat, that we had a limited amount of. and there was rat poop everywhere. how are people supposed to stop this.

the meat we were eating was bad and my 2 brothers have died from this discusting meat. hopfully me and my sister dont catch whatever my brothers have eaten.
