My Final Timeline

  • First sibling born

    First sibling born
I honestly believe that my most important job in the world is being a sister. I have 2 brothers, Max and Spencer. Max is 14 years old, and I was only 7 when he was born. I remember when I found out I was going to have a brother. When he arrived, I was so excited to have him. Max and I have always been extremely close, and he is my best friend. We have the same type of humor, we think alike, and he has been by my side through every high and low. (Culture, values, socialization, interdependence)
  • First pet

    First pet
I received my Jack Russel Terrier Winnie as a surprise. She has been by my side ever since then, and she has been the best dog you could imagine with the sweetest and more protective personality. She ltaught me about a lot being responsible for something, and she contributed to our family through companionship and protection. (Role, socialization, community)
  • First Time Moving

    First Time Moving
I had lived near Tampa, Florida, from before I can remember until I was 14 years old right before I started the 9th grade. I was completely a Florida girl in every way possible aside from the fact that being a red head, I never showed signs of a tan. Picking up and moving is difficult. Leaving friends, family, and familiarity behind was very scary for me. Moving to Charlotte was my first time in Charlotte, and the transition took time. (Change, location, culture area, and culture diffusion)
  • First Time in College

    First Time in College
From preschool through 12th grade, I attended small Christian schools with uniforms, strict rules, and between only 35 and 50 students in a grade level. Coming to college was very overwhelming because it was completely unlike anything I had ever seen before. I had never been able to go to school without a uniform, been in a large lecture class, or had to go out of my way to meet teachers and professors. I grew to love UNCC and all the great opportunities. (Change, socialization, and role)
  • First Time out of the Country

First Time out of the Country
I travelled to Kenya for 2 weeks where I volunteered at a church, schoo, and orphanage. This was my first time leaving the country, so the plane ride, the food, the people, the time difference, the way of life, the transportation, and the language were all an adjustment for me. I learned so much during that trip including how fortunate I am to live in America and how beautiful the land and people are in places around the world. (Cultural relativism, culturation, norms, exploration, location)
