    I was born!
I was born at St. Anthony's hospital in Oklahoma City.
  • Dad's humming

    Dad's humming
Amy song My dad hummed this song as he was walking out of the hospital on his way home to tell my 8 brothers and sisters that I had arrived.
  • Dad's second humming song

    Dad's second humming song
He also hummed "MY cup runneth over." I'm not sure who it's by but I have always loved that song.
  • First move

    First move
We moved from Shirley Lane to 101 East Hurd.
  • Pre-K

    Pre-K
I went to seven dwarves Pre-K. I hated it.
  • I broke my arm

    I broke my arm
I was on the top of the slide and fell off. My brother didn't think I was really hurt so he pulled on my arm and then he saw the bones poking through the skin on the underside.
  • "Seasons in the Sun"

    "Seasons in the Sun"
    seasons in the sun
My brothers and sisters absolutely loved this song so when it came on the radio, they would all rush to it and try to write down as many lyrics as possible before the song was done. I remember they were so excited when they had written out all the lyrics. The song is pretty cheesy but it has a really good message about enjoying what you have when you have it.

  • "Afternoon Delight"

    "Afternoon Delight"
This song was really popular the summer I started playing softball and my two brothers and sister were my coaches. I still cant' hear this song without thinking of that great summer.
  • 2nd move

    2nd move
We moved from Edmond to Guthrie where I went to my first Catholic school, St. Mary's. We lived right across the street from the school, so that was cool.
  • First sign of an eating disorder

First sign of an eating disorder
I would horde food in my bedroom and eat it at one sitting. My dad would get enough candy bars so I could have one in my lunch every day, and I would eat all 5 of them the first day he bought it and then would have to lie about why they were all gone. I felt awful about myself because I knew that I weighed more than most girls my age. I absolutely hated that whole year.
  • "Slip Sliding Away"

    "Slip Sliding Away"
This song was played on our way back from my brother's b-ball game and it had sleeted and snowed while we were in the gym so it was really dangerous coming home. I remember thinking it was a great adventure and so much fun. I fell asleep on the way home and it was so peaceful and calm with the music playing and mom and dad talking softly in the front seat.
  • 3rd move

    3rd move
From Guthrie, we moved to South Bend, Indiana. I was devastated because I really loved Guthrie and St. Mary's.
  • 4th move

    4th move
From South Bend, we moved back to where we came from, Guthrie Oklahoma. I went back to the school where I went to in 5th grade, but most of the kids had switched to the public school. There were only 2 other girls in my grade.
  • 5th move

    5th move
Guess what?! We are moving back to South Bend. This year, instead of having an eating disorder, I got into drugs and stayed with them until my sophomore year.
  • My Dad's heart attack

    My Dad's heart attack
My dad had a heart attack on my 16th birthday. My brother woke me up at 12:24 a.m. saying that I needed to get out of bed and ready to go to the hospital because Dad had a heart attack and may not live. This was a turning point in my life because when my brother left my room, the main thing I was worried about was if I had enough speed to get me through the next couple of days. I quit drugs shortly after this because I realized what an ugly turn my life took.
  • 6th move

    6th move
After Dad's attack, he wanted to be in Oklahoma closer to the rest of his kids so we moved back to Edmond. This was a good move for me because it got me out of the circle of friends I was in, the one that was all about doing drugs and drinking. I went to St. Mary's High School and Elisa Wickware introduced herself to me immediately. We became best friends quickly.
  • graduation!!!

    graduation!!!
I graduated with my class of 60, and almost my whole family was there. I didn't go to any graduation parties, but I drove around OKC at night so grateful for my life and for my family and so incredibly thankful that my life had taken a positive turn and I wasn't craving speed anymore. I just spent that night alone with my thoughts and undying gratitude.
