Mr. Clifton's Spring Class

    I will give an overview of what we will accomplish for the year and the rules and regulations that will be enforced.

  • Pre-Test for Ultimate Frisbee

    Pre-Test for Ultimate Frisbee
    We will do a cognitive and pyschomotor pre-test to compare to at the end of the unit to measure the level of improvement.
  • Begin Ultimate Frisbee Unit

    We will start to work on the basic skill of a backhand pass to a stationary partner. This will last until the end of the week.
  • Forhand Pass

    Work on steping with same side as throwing hand and getting the wrist parallel to the ground.
  • Hammer Throw

    The throwing pattern is similar to that of an over hand throw patter used to throw a ball.
  • Lead Passes and Passive Defender

    Throughout the week we will work on throw ahead of receiver so they can catch it in stride. We will also work on throwing around passive defender integrating forehand and back hand throw.
  • 2 v 1 and 3 v 3 Game play

    This week we will start game play so that we can integrate rules and full speed action of game play but not be as large as a full 7 v 7 game.
  • Full on Game Play 7 v 7

    We will play a full on game to get ready for the final SCPEAP analysis for the next day.
  • SCPEAP Assessment

    We will play full on game play to determine what level of competence the students are at and video assess each individual’s performance.
  • Intoduce Basketball

    We will do a cognitive and pyschomotor pre-test to compare to at the end of the unit to measure the level of improvement.
  • Begin Dribbling and Passing

    We work on ball handling skills so that the students can move with the ball. Passing we will work on the three different types of passes chest, bounce, and overhead pass needed to play the game.
  • Give and Go and Pick and Roll

    We will work on basic offensive strategies that will create open space need to score easily.
  • 2 v 1, 3 v 2, and 3 v 3 Games

    We will be working on offensive strategies first then learn how to apply those strategies to 3 v 3 game play.
  • 4 v 4 amd 5 v 5 Game Play

    We will learn how to use offensive and defensive strategies we learned and apply them to full on game play.
  • Repair for SCPEAP Assessment

    We will work on the skills need to perform the assessment.
  • SCPEAP Assessment

    Film and assess student performance to determine the student's competency.
  • Introduction to Flag Football

    Introduction to Flag Football
    We will do a cognitive and pyschomotor pre-test to compare to at the end of the unit to measure the level of improvement.
  • Work on Throwing and Catching

    We will work on how to throw the ball with a spiral and the reciever catch with diamond hands.
  • Throwing and Catching to Moving Receiver

    We will work on making lead passes and the receive need to catch thrown ball in stride.
  • SPRING BREAK!!!

    HAVE A GOOD BREAK!!!
  • Running Routes without and with defender

    The receiver runs specific routes to get open and creat space between them and the defender.
  • 5 v 4 and 6 v 5 Games

    Play a modified game so the students can work on defensive and offensive strategies need to play the game.
  • Full on Game play 7 v 7 or 8 v 8

    We will work on what is needed to play and what will be assessed for SCPEAP assessment.
  • SCPEAP Assessment

    Students will be filmed and assessed on their competency of the skills in flag football.
  • Exam Week
