On June 15, 1975, Kody Scott graduates sixth grade and goes to his initiation to join a neighborhood gand. G.C. who is the leader of the gang steals a car and gives kody a gun. out on patrol they see a rival gang and get into a firefight with them. Monster chapter 2
A girl from the gang named China starts having a steady relationship with Kody. Kody is with here at her grandparents house when he hears a gunshot. Kody runs toward the noise and sees the rival gang "The Sixties" shooting out of a car. kody immediatly opens fire on the car with no luck. the car gets away but is later caught by police. -
Monster chapter 3
Kody is forced to go to the store with his mom which is in rival territory. kody is walking around the store when he sees a rival gang member who recognises kody and draws his gun. Kody is faster and draws his own weapon quicker and hits the gang member twice. he then grabs his mom and leaves -
Monster chapter 7
Kody wakes up in the hospital after a few days with open wounds in his leg. his stomach has been stapled together where the bullet sliced him. Kody recieves a call at the hospital from an unknown caller. "You aint dead yet tramp?!" says the unknown man. Kody realizes that this may have been the person who shot him. With kody gone, his set has been retaliating as strong as ever. Still in the hospital a cop asks kody if HE can be the one to stop the gang wars. Kody just laughs -
Monster chapter 4 and 5
it is now the end of the 1980s and kody has grown up quite a bit. he is now recognized by other gangs and is proving himself within his set. one night kody heads home late from a friends house with no weapon and encounters a rival gang. they shoot at him but kody makes it to his own gangs car and hides uder it coming out unscathed -
Monster chapter 6
It is new years eve and Kody is planning on robbing the western surplus store. Kody gets too drunk and shoots out a street light and gives his gun to joe who is arrested for shooting the light. kody is then picked up by three girls who take him to the western surplus store. There, kody is ambushed by the sixties and is shot three times. -
Monster chapter 8
Kody is processed out of jail and found not guilty. outside the courthouse, Kody runs to the first bus he can find because he thinks the cops are tricking him. A rival gang member then boards the bus and sees Kody and pulls out his gun., The gang member asks Kody what gang hes from. Kody denies being in a gang at all and the man believes him. The man then says that he should join a gand because he looked like gang material. -
Monster chapter 9
It has been some time and Kody is back in maximum security. Kodys little brother is sent to the youth detention center. Kody sees this as an opportunity to get revenge on the sixties. Kody orginizes a meeting at the muslim services. The muslims kick them out for being disrespectful during the service. The cops then see them outside and move to arrest them. The muslim service leader then comes out and tells the cops that he is the one who sent them out there. -
Monster chapter 10
Kodys old girl Tamu is waiting for him when Kody gets back from jail she urges that kody and her get an apartment together and for Kody to get a job. Kody is then locked up again. this time for 19 years -

During his time in jail, Kody began is transformation. His name was no longer Kody Scott. His name now is Sanyika Shakur. he aims to erase th years of gangbanging from his existance. In 1991, Kody beat up a police informant acting as a drug dealer and was locked up again. Kody is now married and has several children
