Harilal is Gandhi's first son to be born and live. Gandhi had one chid previously at 15, but it only survived a few days. Harilal was born in 1888, however the exact date in unknown. He passed away on June 18th, 1948 at 60 years old.

At just 78 years old on Janurary 30th, 1948 Gahndi was shot 3 times by Nathuram Godse. Godse was a Hindu Nationalist. Prior to this event there had been 5 previous attempts to kill Ghandi. The earliest date known is all the way back to 1934.
