    Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbanadar, India on October 2nd, 1869. He was born into the Kashmiri Brahman tribe.

    Gandhi at age 18, left Bombay, India for England without his wife or son. He later went to college in London to become a barrister (lawyer). He attempted to fit in the English ways by buying new suits, fine- tuning his english accent, learning French, and taking violin and dance lessons.

    Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru issued the Declaration of Independence on January 26, 1930. this meant that the Indian National Congress (INC) officially declared its independence from the British Empire.The Decleration of Indian Independance was al o known as "The Purna Svaraj".

    Gandhi decided to fast in hopes of changing the attitudes of the Hindu fanatics. Gandhi stated that is was going to be "my greatest fast." The fast was not to be broken until Delhi became peaceful.

Godse shotthree shotat Gandhi using a pistol.Nathuram was sentenced to deathHowever, Gandhisfamily did not want Godse to besentneced to death because they believe Gandhiwould not have wanted that if he was still alive.In the end. Nathuram Godse was put to death.
