The Boxer rebellion was begun by peasants but eventually the government supported it. The Chinese had secret society known as the boxers. They embarked a violent campaign to drive all foreigners out of China.

It started when the last emperor died in 1908 when he took the throne he wasn’t going to reign long. The Qing dynasty was overthrown by a revolution that people started to talk about since 1894. In the early 1800’s they started to struggle and them being in poverty lead to wars.

The May fourth Movement was a Chinese anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement which grew out of student protests in Beijing. It lead to the establishment of radical intellectuals who went on to mobilize peasants and workers into the communist party and gain the organizational strength that would solidify the success of the Communist Revolution.

It was a military conflict that was primarily waged between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan. The war made up the Chinese theater of the wider Pacific Theater of the second war. It started with a dispute between Japanese and Chinese troops but then is escalated to a full on invasion. China began a full on resistance to the expansion of Japanese influence in its territory.

The central idea behind the Great Leap was the rapid development and industrial sectors should take place parallel. The hope was to industrialize by making use of the massive supply of cheap labor and avoid having to import heavy machinery.
