Who: Britain, Middle Class, Karl Marx, Jeremy Betham.
What: An era where machines were used for production; new ideas began surfacing about the economy.
Where: Mainly Great Britain and England, parts of Europe.
When: circa 1760-1850
Why: Due to the new methods of production and farming and the new ideas about economy.

What: When the National Assembly was locked out of their meeting place by the Estates-General, they agreed to continue meeting until they formed a new constitution for the people of France.

Why: For the National Assembly to continue meeting until they form a new constitution for France.

Who: King Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, 1st Estate, 2nd Estate, 3rd Estate, Maximillien Robespierre, National Assembly.
What: A civil revolution that broke out in France in attempt to get rid of the Old Regime, a system that was unfair to the majority of France's population.

What: A slave revolt in Saint-Domingue that resulted in the abolition of slavery and the establishment of Haiti
Where: Modern-day Haiti

Why; To abolish slavery in Saint-Domingue.

Who: Maximillen Robespierre, the Comittee of Public Safety
What: A ten month period where suspected enemies of the Revolution were executed.

When: September 5th 1793- July 28th 1794
Why: To eliminate all enemies of the French Revolution

War of Knives- Haitian Revolution 1799-1800
Who: Toussaint L'Ouverture, Andre Rigaud
What: A war between L'Ouverture and Rigaud over control of Haiti.
Where: Haiti
When: June 1799- March 1800
Why: Over a conflict between L'Ouverture and Riguad about who would control Haiti after defeating foreign forces.

What: A war fought in Spain and Portugal that lead to a crushing defeat for France.

Why: Other countries, such as Spain and Portugal, were not cooperating with the Continental System, a plan by France to cut off Britain from any trade.

Who: Commodore Matthew Perry, Japan, The United States of America.
What: A treaty that opened two ports in Japan and let the US set up an embassy in Japan.

Why: To keep Japan from isolating itself, to establish trading ports withing Japan.
