ENLIGHTENMENT
The Enlightenment period was based off of all philosophers and their ideas such as John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Montesquieau and many more! There were ideas about government, rights, religion, freedom and more. All of the people that came up with these ideas were called philosophers. The picture that goes with this is John Locke he thought the three natural rights everyone deserved were Life, Liberty and Property. -
INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
This time period was when people either worked in factories and industrialised which is known as factory industry or if they produce goods at home which is called cottage industry, Clearly the cottage industry is much more difficult but many people were in the cottage industry. This was also around the time where people began doing child labor and made children 5+ work in factories! -
FRENCH REVOLUTION
A time period where Louis XVI and Marie Antoniette ruled for the beginning, the social classes were based off of the three estates built up of clergies, nobles and workers and peasants. Maximillien Robiespierre is now the leader of Committee of Public Safety and Where Napoleon had his three Mistakes, That declined the french revolution. -
FRENCH REVOLUTION, TENNIS COURT OATH

FRENCH REV. CREATION OF THE DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF MAN
This was created because the people wanted more rights so the national assembly formed this so that is gave the leader less power and gave the people and citizens more rights. -
HAITIAN REVOLUTION
This time period had involved the Tainos, Affranchis, French colonists and more! The tainos were the inhabitants of Hispaniola. This is the time period where the french began to grow things such as indigo, sugar, etc! The ratios of blacks and whites during this period was very unbalanced. Life for enslaved people was pretty bad. Some owners did not provide food and they had to work very long days. People also began following a African religion called Voodoo. This brought enslaved people together -
HAITIAN REV. BOUKMAN REVOLT
A former voodoo priest and slave, Dutty Boukman planned a slave rebellion called the Boukman Revolt. This was known as the starting point of the Haitian Revolution -
HAITIAN REV. WAR OF KNIVES
This war started because Louverture and Riguad would disagree over things, so that later on led to a war. Louverture defeated Riguad. -
FRENCH REVOLUTION, PENINSULAR WAR
This was one of Napoleons Mistakes to the decline of the French Revolution. The start of this war was when Portugal refused to follow the Continental System so with that, Napoleon decided to send troops to Portugal. Napoleon had to send extra troops to Portugal and the end of the war resulted in 300,000 of Napoleons men dead. -
IMPERIALISM, OPIUM WAR
A war caused by the smuggling of Opium from China into Britain. This war was with Britain and China and Britain won! -
IMPERIALISM, SIGNING OF THE TREATY OF NANJING
This was the treaty that ended the Opium War it let china open all trading ports to any country and it gave Britain Hong Kong. -
IMPERIALISM, MATTHEW PERRY GOES TO JAPAN
This is when a man named Matthew Perry from US. goes to Japan and basically forces Japan to open up two trading ports and if they don't they will go to war with Japan. -
IMPERIALISM, TREATY OF KANAGAWA
This treaty said that Japan was to open two trading ports to everyone else on the west side such as the US. -
