My Sister Was Born
I was only 3 years old, but I remember when my little sister was born. I remember when I first saw her in the hospital. I was so excited to have a sibling and not be the only child in the house anymore so I could have someone to play with. I immediately felt protective over her. My sister and I are so close today. My life would be so different without her. I am very grateful for my wonderful sister. -
1st Day of 5th Grade at a new school
I just moved from Highwood, Illinois to Libertyville, Illinois. I was going to go to a new school where I didn't know anyone. I was so nervous and anxious for this but it required me to be outgoing and make new friends. I think this event made me stronger because I had to go out of my comfort zone and become comfortable in a new situation -
My Grandpa Passed Away
My grandpa struggled with pnuemonia for awhile, so my family and I were expecting his passing. One day, we were visiting him in the nursing home. He didn't remeber who any of us were, but when we were walking out, he said "bye Michela." He didn't know anyone else's names expect mine. This made me feel closer to him, so when he passed away, it was difficult. His death made me realize that I really need to appreciate the life I have and that I need to live life to the fullest. -
1st Day of High School
It was the first day of high school and I was so anxious. I had only known the kids I went to Oak Grove with so it was scary going into a school with many kids that I didn't know. I knew I was prepared but I was still very nervous. I had a couple classes where I didn't know anyone. I had to talk to people I never met and I met a lot of new friends. I overcame this obstacle and realized I should've never been nervous in the first place. -
Getting My License
I got my license on October 25th. I was so excited to get my license but I was so nervous to take the test. I passed on my first try and recieved my license. This made me feel a big sense of independence and freedom. Now, I have to pay for my own gas and run errands and drive my sibling around. This makes me feel responsible and also independent. -
Concluding Caption
Overall, I would describe myself as someone who can overcome obstacles that I percieve as difficult even though they may not be for other people. I also try to appreciate everything I have in life. My goals in life are to be happy and succesful in what I do. My outlook on life is to try to live life to the fullest as best as I can.
