The first surge of Mexican immigrants travel from Mexico to the United States on April 11, 1910. At this time the Mexican Revolution had not started so the main reason for the immigrants to come to America was because they wanted to improve their economic situations and live a better life and life style. -
The 1910 election took place on June 26th, 1910. In this election Francisco Madero unsuccessfully opposes Díaz in the election. This caused a lot of people to be mad and caused there to be a lot of immigrants that came to America. -
The Mexican Revolution started on November 20th 1910 for many reasons. Some reasons being because many people believed that there was a unequal distribution of land, the deeply entrenched economic inequality, and more. This revolution beginning became one of the main causes for the first surge of mexicans to immigrate to America in 1910. -
In February of 1913, the streets filled with bloody riots in Mexico City. This began after Madero is overthrown by a coup led by his own military chief, General Victoriano Huerta. General Victoriano Huerta ends up declaring himself the dictator of the country. This scares many people out of the country to come to America for freedom. -
Venustiano Carranza drive Huerta to resign in 1914. After General Victoriano Huerta's finally resigns in 1914 Venustiano Carranza becomes president in his place. This causes Zapata and Villa continue waging war against him. General Álvaro Obregón, the leader of the government forces finally defeats Villa and his forces. This led to his rebel leader to be wounded but alive. This battle and war caused many mexicans to be scared and flew the country to America. -
Throughout world war l Mexico remains neutral and together during the war despite Germany trying to enlist the country as an ally. Other then the warring factions in Mexico, Carranza is able to watch over and change the creation of a new liberal Mexican constitution in 1917. -
The end of the Mexican Revolution took place on February 5th, 1917. Even through this was one of the main causes that Mexicans were immigrating to America, people still immigrated after the revolution. -
Another reason why many people immigrated to the United States was because Carranza ordered the ambush and murder of Zapata. Some of Zapata's followers refused to believe that he was dead and this could have caused them to leave the country. Later on, a group of people lead by Obregón, end up killing Carranza.
