Experience: My family loves to watch television. We always watch television, even while we are eating our meals. It became our bonding together. We always watch shows together. Our television back then was not a flat screen, but one with a bulky back. -
RADIO
Definition: The transmission and reception of electromagnetic waves of radio frequency, especially those carrying sound messages. Experience: When cleaning our house in the morning, my mother loves to listen to the radio. I can remember that we were always looking forward to different love or horror stories told by the radio personalities. That was when I was first introduced to radio. -
BOOKS
Definition: A written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers. Experience: Ever since I was little, my mother used to buy me books. Whether it is a compilation of parables and fables or a book of legends, that is one of the reasons why I prefer reading books today. Through that, I learned so many English words, which helped me in my English subject back then. -
DESKTOP COMPUTER
Definition: A desktop computer is a personal computing device designed to fit on top of a typical office desk. It houses the physical hardware that makes a computer run and connects to input devices that users interact with. Experience: My parents bought a desktop computer for us to use in our education. I can remember that during those times, I was always playing on our computer. There were so many games on our computer back then. I was also watching different videos on YouTube, like Barbie. -
SOCIAL MEDIA (FACEBOOK)
Definition: Social media is digital technology that allows the sharing of ideas and information, including text and visuals, through virtual networks and communities. Experience: I remember that I was only in grade 1 when I made a Facebook account by myself because I'd seen my parents and siblings using Facebook. I was curious, so I tried making mine. Through that, I was able to communicate with my classmates and relatives, and I could also see updates about them, like pictures they posted. -
TABLET
Definition: A tablet is a wireless, portable personal computer with a touchscreen interface. The tablet form factor is typically smaller than a notebook computer, but larger than a smartphone. Experience: -
MOBILE PHONE
Definition: A telephone with access to a cellular radio system so it can be used over a wide area, without a physical connection to a network. Experience: My first mobile phone was a Samsung. It was used by my aunt and was passed on to me. It had quite limited features to be used. All I could do was play pyramid games and converse with my friend. -
SMARTPHONE
Definition: A mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded applications. Experience: I had SKK and two Cherry Mobile phones. Two of them were just passed on to me, but the one Cherry Mobile phone was a gift from me at my graduation from elementary school. I used them for my education most of the time and communication with my family and friends. -
OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA APPS
Definition: Social media is digital technology that allows the sharing of ideas and information, including text and visuals, through virtual networks and communities. Experience: When I was in junior high school, I was introduced to different social media apps, such as Instagram and Twitter. My classmates used them, so I also tried using them. I used these social media to share information, interact with others, and use them for my education. -
LAPTOP
Definition: A portable computer that is small enough to use on one's lap, has its main components (as keyboard and display screen) combined in one unit, and can run on battery power. Experience: It was during the pandemic that my uncle bought my sister a laptop as a gift, and since then I have also used it for educational purposes or when someone was using the computer. So that I can accomplish my tasks on time. -
SMARTPHONE
Definition: A mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded applications. Experience: This is the phone I am using currently. It was bought by my father when I was in grade 11 because my old phone broke and I needed one for my school. Nowadays, smartphones have become a necessity for everyone because they help us do different activities conveniently.
