Roman Empire
In the 4th century, covered a very large area. It wasn’t easy to
govern in effectively or guarantee peace here. The empire was divided in two parts: the
Western Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire. The first one was almost always stable,
but the second one wasn’t.
