    In May 1893 Gandhi went to Natal, South Africa. He arrived there at the age of 23. He went to South Africa trying to learn more about law, but ended up having a completely new goal. During his first week in Natal he was taking a train to the Dutch-governed Transvaal province of South Africa, but during his ride a white man told Gandhi to move because he did not want to be in first class with Gandhi. but Gandhi did not move.

    Continued- But since Gandhi would not move he was thrown off the train. After the event happened, he went around talking to other indians. He found out that they were not treated very well either. So he dicided to fight dicrimination against indians in South Africa.

    After the salt march Gandhi had many flloweres. So after the march he went on another fast. Since there was so many Indian protesters the British thought of ways to have and independent India. Wanting independence sooner, Gandhi organized a "Quit India" campaign in 1942. In response, the British once again jailed Gandhi. After his release there was a great chance India was going to become independant. On January 18, a group of representatives approached Gandhi with a promise for peace

    In 1930 to help free India from British controll, Gandhi held a non-violent march near the sea coast near the village of Dandi to protest the British salt tax. The Salt Tax made it illegal to sell or produce salt, which effected many people in India.
