In 1906, Gandhi began his revolution. He said that he would rather die or go to jail than obey the anti-Asian laws. Thousands of Asians joined his campaign. Gandi was sent to prison two times.

He was imprisoned for the third time during WWII when he demanded for independence. This was because Indians aided Britain in the war.
