    KILWA SULTANATE SUCCEEDED KILWA EMPIRE
    In the year of 980, Kilwa Sultanate was founded by a man named Ali ibn al-Hassan Shirazi and he successfully succeeded the Kilwa Empire. Kiwa was originally owned by a mainland king named Almuli. It was also connected to a bridge connected to the mainland that came in a low tide.The king sold it to Ali ibn al-Hassan. But the king changed his mind and tried to take it back. But the persians dug up the land bridge and Kilwa became an island. The king sold the island for as much as colored cloth.

    KINGDOM OF MUTAPA WAS FOUNDED

    The monomotapa empire was founded in the 15 century by a line of Kings that ruled over Africa. The empires maps of the time made it seem like they ruled over all of south Africa but they really only ruled over the land were modern day Zimbabwe is and spilling into the countries that surrounded Zimbabwe, a little but mainly Zimbabwe. But even though the empire had all that land they were still very susceptible to attacks. The portuguese eventually invaded the land and took the empire.

    Mozambique had been filled with warfare since Portugal invaded the area. And the final straw for portugal was making a military move called the coup of November 25 1975. The military move was supposed to defeat the revolutionary governing bodies in Mozambique but failed miserably. So in reaction to this 250,000 Portuguese left giving Mozambique its independence. In 1994 they held elections that in reaction to this brought many refugees flowing back into the country.

    In the year of 1840, the scramble began for small trading post in Africa. Europeans depended on African rulers and traders to take and bring enslaved Africans. They came from came from coastal and interior regions. A lot of the traders did slave trading for a profit. At the end of the 16th century, slavery has made a big difference in the western and central societies and they also contributed to slave trade across the ocean.

    In 1870 Europe only controlled ten percent of Africa that included a small portion of Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The kingdom of Buganda was a thriving nation/state with some impressive naval fleets. Bunyoro as the most important state in the region, it later became province to British Uganda Protectorate in early 20th Century. The European imperialist pushed into Africa and was motivated by three main factors, Economic, Political, and Social.

    By 1913 europe had completely engulfed the continent occupying every country except liberia and ethiopia. Liberia was founded in 1821. 17 years before partial independence was achieved through the declaration of common wealth. Ethiopia was considered not colonized. In May of 1941, Selassie restored to the Ethiopian throne to where there independence was regained.

    The country formerly known as Rhodesia now known as Zimbabwe was a strange case because they had petitioned to be a self governing colony and the request was granted by Britain. The power they had given them made them want to be independent and not under British rule wrote their declaration of independence also known as the UDI in 1965. This eventually led to a Civil war in 1972 that ended in 1979 that led to the independence of Zimbabwe and the first president of Zimbabwe Canaan Banana.

    BOTSWANA WAS FOUNDED
    During this time, Botswana was founded. The border is marked by a river that flows down. SInce Botswana became independent, there has been much more peace. The country is also growing and prospering with other things as well. Botswana was a lot like Zimbabwe in gaining its independence. The country was granted self government then gained their independence when they had their first election. The first president of Botswana was Seretse Khama.

    During this time, two agreements had been signed in South Africa. One of these agreements was for Namibian to get independence from South Africa. The countries who agreed to this were South Africa, Cuba and Angola signed this agreement. Namibian finally gained its independence. The second agreement was between Angola and Cuba. They were planning on withdrawing quite a lot of their troops. This meant that they were setting out time to pull back troops.

    The Namibians were celebrating the beginning of their decolonization. There were troops who were supposed to have been limited and controlled were not and this led to the attacking of the SWAPO forces. With this attack, fighting broke out and all peace was gone. Because of this event, many fighters were injured and 300 were killed. Overall, there were many killings After this attack, many were shocked. This event caused many violations that broke any peace. After this, amends that were made.
