  • Prenatal Development & Birth

Born at 12:15 pm weighing 8 lbs 2.5 oz and measuring 20 inches long. I am the second child out of 3 to be born to Michael and Robin Spear.
  • Frist Two Years: Biosocial

I officially sleep through the night.
  • First Two Years: Cognitive

At the age of 1 I began imitating speech and sounds and was possibly saying my first true words.
  • First Two Years: Psychosocial

Around this time I began understanding that I need to take care of myself and I was able to brush my teeth. My mom also began toilet training me so I wouldn't feel the need to hide to do my "business". Although, it wasnt until I was 2 1/2 years old that I could stay dry all day long.
  • Early Childhood: Biosocial

Some of my favorite foods are bananas and strawberries. I enjoy running around outside with my sister as my form of exercise.
  • Early Childhood: Cognitive

I have a growing vocabulary and I talk up a storm.
  • Little Sister Born

  • Early Childhood: Psychosocial

One of my favorite things to do is play dress up with cousins.
  • Middle Childhood: Psychosocial

First Day of Kindergarten and I am very scared leaving my mom. Around this time I also meet my first "boyfriend".
  • Middle Childhood: Cognitive

Started going to catechism to learn about the Catholic religion.
  • Middle Childhood: Biosocial

I'm in 4th grade and the tallest girl in my class.
  • Adolescence: Biosocial

Mother nature visited me for the first time and gifted me my first period. I was so excited for some reason.
  • Adolescence: Psychosocial

Had my first so called boyfriend and experienced how hormones play into "dating" at a young age.
  • Adolescence: Psychosocial

Got my first car! Now I am labeled as one of the cooler kids.
  • Adolescence: Cognitive

After having fun skipping school during my 10th and 1/2 of 11th grade, I see my grades dropping to a low B average. I started applying myself to my studies and started thinking about going to college.
  • Graduated High School

  • Started Working at Detroit Diesel

  • Emerging Adulthood: Biosocial

Became pregnant with my first child. This was a very exciting time for both of our families and I loved my pregnant body.
  • Birth of Daughter

  • Emerging Adulthood: Cognitive

I had to sort out my feelings and emotions from facts to figure out what was best for my daughter and I. Her father and I were not getting along because he drank a lot and made very poor choices. After much needed counseling I decided it was best if I left in persuit of happiness.
  • Emerging Adulthood: Psychosocial

Friendship with my bestfriend continued to strengthen and we started looking to buy a house together. Our plan was to live together until we married each other off so that neither of us made anymore poor decisions regarding men.
  • Birth of Son

  • Adulthood: Biosocial & Cognitive

Officially in my best shape ever. I have been working out with a trainer for 4 months and he has helped me gain strength like I've never had before. He has also taught me that my body is capable of doing anything I want it to do. Lesson learned is that mind over matter exists.
  • Adulthood: Cognitive

I am starting nursing school and working to finish up my bachelors degree. Decisions I made earlier in life have led me to being older than most when they obtain their first undergraduate degree. At least I'm keeping my mind fit as I get older!
  • Adulthood: Psychosocial

Finally getting married! After many boyfriends and a couple cohibitations I finally have the perfect (almost) man for my little family. He loves my children like his own and he supports us financially so that I can finish nursing school.
  • Late Adulthood: Biosocial Development

At the age of 75 I am still feeling young. I am physically and mentally healthy. My blood pressure is still 116/80 and I still enjoy walks in my neighborhood with my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They actually have a hard time keeping up with me!
  • Late Adulthood: Cognitive Development

Today I turned 80! I celebrated may day surrounded by my family and closest friends. My best friend of 65 years and I spent time recalling all the great historical landmarks we have been alive to witness. My meeting of President Obama in 2012, The War on Terrorist and the crash of the economy in 2008. I still remember everything except occasionally I misplace my keys...no worries though because I did the same silly stuff when I was 18.
  • Late Adulthood: Psychosocial Development

I see myself slowing down in life. I still spend a lot of time with my best friend of 75 years. Today we sit at a community center knitting items for children in foster homes. We will deliver our gifts just in time for Christmas. My family, friendships and hobbies are what are keeping me going these days.
  • Death and Dying

Today I lay in a hospital bed that has taken residence in my living romm. I am in the same position so many of my former patients were in and now I know exactly how they felt. It is now time for hospice to take care of me. I feel so helpless in my ability to comfort my family as I did for so may other families in my time as a palliative care nurse. But I am at ease...in no pain and surrounded by all of my loved ones, I take my last breath.
