  • My birth

On this day, I erupted from my mother's womb in a beam of light and declared myself the god that I am today.

    Sneakin' out

I don't have very good memories of this but when I was 2 years old I figured out the locks on my front and back doors and ran away from my house three times.
  • Baby Brother

My brother was born on this day and reused the same womb as I had once used.

    Reading

When I was four years old I learned how to read.
  • Schoolin' Around

This is when I started school at McBride Elementary where my dad was the P.E coach.
  • Schoolin' around again

I started at a fifth and sixth grade center called Wilson's Creek
  • Moving Around

My dad got a promotion to work as a manager at a store in Kansas City so we got our things together and left.
  • Trombonin'

Start of seventh grade, finally, a time I can remember. I was told in our band program to play trombone and I did it which was a good idea, and then I played it well.

Journey on the road to BoneTown

The 8th grade was a big year for me as far as my music career. I did UMKC honor band for the first time, and continued my position as first trombone in school for the year, got a 1 rating at solo/small ensemble and then got the national directors award for most achieved band student.
  • First place

So far, life as a trombonist was going pretty okay. I was giving about 50% in school and lessons, I was bad but not as bad as the people around me so I was first trombone for the year so far. But then something pretty groovy happened. District auditions for middle school district band. Which is band in the KC area from all the middle schools. I went in and took a stab and got placed first trombone in the KC metro area. I was pretty proud, and that sparked the beginning of my trombone career.

    Freshman year

Freshman year was also a big year for me musically. I placed second in high school district band, which was crazy for a freshman, and then after that I went on to place 12th (second honorable mention) in the state which is even crazier as a freshman. I also did UMKC high school honor band which I was second in the top band and I did four state honor band, which didn't really have chair placements. I also received 3 ones at district, and 2 ones at state solo/ensemble.

    Jazzing out

Long before my placements in concert honor bands I had discovered what I knew would be my true calling... Jazz. Jazz had extended its arms to me and pulled me in, but the only problem was that Park Hill South didn't allow freshman into jazz. Instead freshman had to do a repeat of 8th grade band called "Freshman band". I was furious, so I found a loophole and got myself involved with Five-Star Jazz band, a community based high school jazz band that accepts all students.

    Jazzing some more

I started as a lowly bass trombone in five-star jazz band, only playing semi-important low parts and out there harmonies for the rest of my section. I continued this for about a year, but then the senior that was on lead graduated and passed the baton to me, and put me on lead and I received his spot in the combo, and as student leader of the trombone section.

    Finally in School Jazz

Beginning of my sophomore year, I finally get into our school's jazz band, and have the best start of any first year jazz student there. It felt great, swooping in and taking solos, and playing confidence... All as a lowly bass trombone player. I don't mind it at all though, being the bass trombone sometimes is nice, it's a rest for your face, and works your low register.

    Placing in state band

Placing in state band would be cool at some point in my highs chool career
  • Graduation

I do plan to graduate with the rest of my class in 2019
  • Going to college

I plan to go to college and do jazz performance. It will be difficult to do but it'll be well worth it to live the rest of my life doing something I love. I have gotten letters from UCM, MU, and K-State about coming to their colleges to major in music.

    Performance

I'd like to make money gigging around and playing all over the place, my favorite place in the world, and my favorite style of music is New Orleans, and I'd like to go somewhere like that where live jazz performance is still popular
  • settling down

After playing for most of my life I would like to find somewhere to live, probably on my own. I never could quite imagine myself getting married and living with someone else because I find to much enjoyment in being by myself and focusing on what I need to focus on. I'd like to have a house somewhere secluded where I can see the sky at night.

    Death

Unfortunately all good things come to an end, but my goal in life is to create a legacy and not let my name go forgotten. I'd like to get known as a musician so I can leave a little bit of myself behind when I'm dead.
