  • Clinging to My Mom

I was very attached to my mom when I was young. A story my mom would always tell was how I would cling to her whenever she was in the kitchen.
  • First Memory

My first memory was playing in the sand with a bucket on a beach in Kihei.
  • Eye Surgery

I had eye surgery when I was 4 years old. I had very poor eyesight.
  • Moving in with my Aunt

We were evicted from the house I lived in from when I was 1 to 5, so we moved into my Aunts house in Haiku. I didn't know it then, but at this time it was extremely stressful for my mom.
  • Aunt reading her favorite book to me

This is one of my favorite memories from my childhood. I remember being very close with my aunt at this time because my family was struggling with a lot of things. She read her favorite book to me, that I still love. It made me feel special and it was just a very warm feeling.
  • Moving into my Kihei House

This was the house I primarily grew up in.
  • Attending Elementary School

I was extremely shy and it was a big step for me to start going to elementary school. I didn't have many friends and I was bullied at the beginning.
  • Neighborhood Games

I remember always being outdoors playing with my neighborhood friends. We made up so many games and made a lot of forts.
  • Police Being Called

My neighborhood friend and I hid in a closet for hours from our parents. They ended up being so worried that they called the police.
  • Camping

A really good memory I have was camping with my neighbors at Hosmers grove. It was just a really good time.
  • Grandpa Dying

This was a big moment for me because I was very young and to see my mom being so sad in front of me was quite shocking and scary to me.
  • A Happy Day

I remember one Thanksgiving being especially good. I was around 9 years old and everybody that I loved was there. I remember everyone being really happy and having fun. It's a bittersweet memory to me because some of the people that were there are really messed up right now.
  • Skipping 5th Grade

Since I started school a year later then everybody else because we were moving, I was a year behind of where I should've been. I decided I wanted to skip 5th grade and had to do a lot of tutoring during the summer.
  • Starting Middle School

This was another big step for me because I didn't know anyone and I was still a little shy. This ended up being a really good thing for me because I started to talk more and come out of my shell.
  • Seeing Death

This was an extremely traumatic moment in my life, in which I witnessed death. A lady jumped from a high rock at Cliff house and fell 15 feet next to my sister and I head first into the lava rocks. Her body was deformed and there was a lot of blood and it was a terrifying experience.
  • First Cheer Competition

Competing in my first cheer competition in Las Vegas was a lot of fun, but also very terrifying because I performed in front of an entire stadium with lots of flashing lights. I had a lot of pressure and I was honestly pretty stressed about the whole thing.
  • Realizing I'm Growing Up

I think about this a lot now, but I remember one time when I was 15 that I started having an intense panic attack because I was over thinking my future and my fear of growing up and ended up hyperventilating and almost passing out.
  • My Aunts Death

This was an extremely shocking and sad time in my life. In less than a week my aunt who I was very close to was diagnosed with Leukemia. I found out on my 16th birthday and was feeling very depressed. A couple days later she died and I listened to her saying goodbye to me over the phone.
  • Concert

This day was probably one of the best in my life. I got to fly to Oahu with my best friend and go see Mac Demarco in Concert. It was just one of those moments where I was really enjoying life and it was such a fun time.
