  • Baptism

    Baptism
I was baptized in La Paz, Bolivia when I was four, this was the first time my family met me and also the first time my mom had seen her family in 10 years. My godmother is my Aunt Charito.
  • Moving to Brewster

    Moving to Brewster
I moved to Brewster from Mahopac, leaving my closest friends. I was scared to go to a new school and make new friends because I wouldn't know anyone, but at least it wasn't a far move. Although I missed my friends, I still keep in contact with them and we are still good friends.
  • My Grandpa coming to live with me

My Grandpa coming to live with me
After years of trying to get his visa approved, my grandpa came to live with us in 2010. He made our lives easier because my mom would work day and night and there would be no one to take care of me.
  • My First Communion

    My First Communion
My First Communion was at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster. The necklace in the picture was a gift from my godparents of communion, Hanna and Vasel Smajlaj.
  • Death of my great grandma

    Death of my great grandma
My great grandmother, Candelaria Blanco de Tapia was a mother for my mom and her siblings, making her very important to my mom and I. The two times I met her, she was losing her memory but she still taught me many things. When she passed away, my mom and I couldn't attend her funeral because the tickets were too expensive, which strongly affected me. Four years later, I finally got to see where she is buried.
  • Trip to Mexico

    Trip to Mexico
I went to Mexico with my mom and saw the prettiest beaches and did so many new things like zip lining and cliff jumping. Mexico was such a relaxing place to be and I hope to go back soon.
  • Going to Bolivia this year

    Going to Bolivia this year
This past summer I went to see my family for the first time in 8 years, and got to catch up with them and learned more about my family members. I appreciated every moment and after bonding with all my cousins, aunts and uncles, leaving them was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I plan to return this summer.
