Born in Glendale Arizona to two young parents not ready to accept the repsonsiblity of a child. -
Father goes to prison
I was too young to understand what was going on, i just knew we had to drive a long time to go visit dad. I was not ver close with him considering i was hardly around him. -
Father gets out of prison
My dad gets out of jail. Does not change too much. He still does the same things, drugs, drinks, and leaves not taking care of me, leaves me with his new girlfriend and his mom. -
Father goes back to prison for the second time
Dad goes back to jail, this being the second time. Also meaning longer time for him to be in there. This time i understand alot more. My mom decides to keep me away consdering i kept getting hurt by a father who did not care. I was not safe when he would bring his drug friends over, my mom was just scared. -
Mom dates a new man
Considering i did not have my father in my life i got very close to my mom. Sleeping in her bed until i was 8. Not wanting her to leave me when she would go out and party i grew attached. When she brough home a new guy that started staying over i became jealous and mean. He started ti take her attention away. My mother and i then grew apart. -
Mom has a daughter
Her new man moves in and a few months later my mom gives birth to a little girl named Madison. I was not to excited to have a sister considering it was just another person taking my moms attention off of me once again. I then started to act out alot more. -
I talk to my father
I was able to talk to my dad on the phone asking him all the questions i wanted to before metting him once again. -
Father messages mom asking to see me
One day my mom had got a message on Facebook from my father asking how i was and if one day in the future he could possibly see me. He begged my mom to allow his family to see me consdering i havent seen them since my mom stopped letting me see him. -
I see my dad for the first time in years
I went to my dads moms to visit and say hello after my dad asked my mom to let me visit them before i saw him. My grandma then surprised me and my mom with bringing my dad over to see me. It was like meeting someone i knew but really didnt. I looked like him but i didnt know him. -
Dad goes to prison for the third time
This time being old enough to walk outside alone, understanding what jail was and why he went. He goes again for the thid time. My mom knows im old enough to make my own decissons and does not try to keep me away this time. I was just starting to build a relationship with this man i called my father. When he went to jail this time it broke my heart to a whole other level. I became extremely depressed. -
Amazing relationship with my dad today
To this day i visit my family all the time and I visit my dad. I write him every week, and he writes me back. Hes been going to school in the prison he is at. Hes trying to make it better for himself and his keds for when he comes home. -
I graduate at North High school
Once I get caught up with my credits i plan on going back to my home school North High School and finishing my second semester of my senior year. I plan on graduating my friends I now call my closest family. -
Drive/move up to Seattle
I plan on packing my things and moving to Seattle to build a better and brighter future for myself in my home state Washington State. I've planned on moving up state for almost 7 years now I knew when i was very young i would move there when i graduated. -
Start College
Biggest thing of all is starting college. Something i promised my dad since day one. No one on his side of the family has gone to college and I want it to start with me so I can make a impact on my younger brothers so they can look up at me and say my big sister did it so can I. If i can make it to this day rigtht here i will be happy with my life knowing everthing i went through really did make me stronger.
