Monty Python's Life Of Tyler 4/20/19

  • Day of Birth

    Day of Birth
On October 1st, 2001, at 8:36 in the morning, the clouds parted. The angels broke into song as a ray of sunlight beamed into the Putnam County Hospital as Tyler Dougherty was brought into this world.
  • Meeting David Lee

    Meeting David Lee
My dad was the Journal News beat writer for the New York Knicks so he followed them around game to game across the U.S., but this was one of his last years doing this. I was at a practice and one of the players saw me waiting for my dad to finish an interview and asked me who my favorite player on the Knicks was and I responded with David Lee and he went into the locker room and brought David out to say hello to me. I was so nervous and scared but he was really nice to me.
  • Getting my cat

    Getting my cat
Right before kindergarten, I wanted a new cat after my mom's had to be put down. But my dad didn't really want one. I was a very convincing child, so I got a cat but my dad was the one who got to name it.
  • Debbie's Daycare

    Debbie's Daycare
My mom felt that it wasn't safe for me and my brother to be home alone while we were young, so we went to a local daycare after school. Even after we got old enough to be home alone, we continued to go, helping her out and giving the kids somebody to chase.
  • Head Lock

    Head Lock
This is added to my timeline mostly because it's the worst injury I've had and the dumbest reason for it. It was a normal day on a bus ride to school in the second grade I was leaning my head against the window in an awkward way and pinched a nerve so badly in my neck that I couldn't look right or up and down.
  • Fenway Park

    Fenway Park
My parents finally succumbed to days and weeks of begging and pleading and bought tickets to a Boston Red Sox game. It was a very cool experience. After being in many new stadiums it was very cool to see the old stadium and watch my favorite team.
  • There's A Million Things He Hasn't Done

    There's A Million Things He Hasn't Done
My brother was into watching plays and musicals for a while during high school and saw that this show called, "Hamilton" that was in early previews and told my parents to get tickets while they were cheap. So I got to see the famous musical with the original cast.
  • Two Games for the Price of One

Two Games for the Price of One
On our way home from a family beach vacation in Delaware, we stopped at a Phillies game. We didn't get to bed until 3 a.m. The game lasted 18 innings and the Phillies lost after they got desperate and put their left fielder in as a pitcher.
  • Getting Cut

    Getting Cut
I have always liked playing basketball since I was young, so I was not happy freshman year when I was one of the last players cut from the basketball team. I worked hard and was able to make the team the next year.
  • First Year of Track & Field

First Year of Track & Field
My friends convinced me to run track so I joined. At first, I wasn't thrilled about practicing and running in the cold, but it was fun being part of a team. Over time, it became a lot more fun and competitive.
  • Coach to Champs

    Coach to Champs
This year Zach Salvo told me he needed an assistant coach for a sixth- and seventh-grade rec basketball team. I ended up running practices most of the time because Zach was picked for varsity basketball and had schedule conflicts. Then in March we coached the kids to the championship game and won it in the last minute.
  • Here and now

    Here and now
On April 20, 2019 I sat down at my computer, looked back on my life and realized that I am a very generic person with too much sarcasm and a willingness to share it.
