I was born
I do not have a picture for this slide. You will have a better understanding of why that is after the next slide. -
I was adopted
On this day, this beautiful woman right here, decided to invite me to be part of her family. Most people find it surprising that I'm adopted, because I look so much like the rest of my family. I act just like my mom/ I like to say "I adapted to my surroundings." I am so thankful for the life she has given me. -
I began Elementary School at Fairview German Language School
It was here that I discovered at a young age how much I wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher. My teacher Ms. Smith was very inspirational for me. As a student, I loved the way the classroom was set up, I loved the songs we would sing that would teach us things, I did not like nap time. I realize now, that if I hadn't had such a good experience in Kindergarten and felt like I had truly gained something from it, I probably wouldn't want to be a teacher. -
Alexia
On this day, I met my best friend, Alexia Fuquay. We were in the same 'community' in high school. To this day, she helps me stay strong and stick up for myself and I'm kind of like her Jimmeney Cricket. -
Church Retreat
This was the first church retreat I ever went on.I think these retreats helped shape me as a person because they taught me the strength of a community and how to enjoy the things around us and learn from the people and things around us, without technology. It also helped me release all the stress from the school year and provided me with a better spiritual outlook at the things around me. -
Got acceptance letter from Wittenberg University
I found out about Wittenberg by filling out one of those online surveys they made juniors complete in high school to see what colleges would be most compatable for them. Back then, I was absolutely CERTAIN I was going to Xavier University. But the second I placed my feet on this campus, I knew I was where I was supposed to be. -
Perfromance In Little Shop of Horrors
I find this to be a signifacant date because what I truly loved about the experience of playing a role in Little Shop of Horrors was that it taught me how to project my voice and how to hold the attention of a crowd, something I knew would come in handy with teaching. -
Graduated from High School
It was on this day, that I graduated from Gamble Montessori High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. I remember being really proud to have made it that far in my educatuion, but being more impressed with myself for not tripping on the stage in my heels that day. -
Moved into Wittenberg
I'm actually pretty sure that freshmen moved in on an earlier date than this, but I cannot remember. Either way, it was an exciting and emotional day. -
My First Real Lesson Plan
Okay, so it wasn't my first lesson plan, and I had help from Erin O'Farrell on it. It was the first lesson plan that I was really proud of, though. We got a lot of compliments from teachers that passed us in the hallways and the students really seemed to enjoy the activity and understand it.
