Chosen for church Leadership Team
I was asked to be on the leadership team at my church when I was in jr. high/ high school. -
Joined the Speech team
In high school a good friend of mine encouraged me to join the speech and debate team. -
Applied and was accepted into college
I applied for a few state schools as well as Bethel and decided on going to Bethel. -
Joined the Speech team at Bethel
I was able to gain a few scholarships by joining the speech and debate team at Bethel. -
Changed my Major to Education
I was originally going to get a degree and become an occupational therapist. However, I realized that working with students everyday was important to me so I changed my major to education. -
Student teaching at Adams Elementary
This was one of the most impactful moments in my life. My cooperating teacher was the one that gave me the confidence to teach and helped me come into my own. -
First teaching job at Adams

Chosen to be a Lead teacher for ELA
This helped to show me that my peers see me as a leader and someone they can trust. -
Got Married

Started my Masters
I chose a Masters with an emphasis in educational leadership at Bethel. -
Moved to Chaska MN and got a job in Waconia

Started my PHD
Once I was tenured I started working on my PhD again. -

Work with training teachers
I would like to continue to support and guide my colleagues so I may want to take a route that gives me more opportunity to work with training teachers. -
Move into higher education
I could see myself working as a professor and helping to teach new teachers so that they are prepared to go into the workforce.
