    Moved to Bolton

When I was 5 my family moved to Bolton from Brampton so that was a big change and difference because we had a new house, a new town and a new school.
  • Therapy

    Therapy

I started therapy when I was 8 for my separation anxiety and loss of my grandad. This lasted on and off for the next 4 years and I grew a lot and learned a lot from this experience. This was a big step in my life and it helped me grow a lot as a person because it strayed from social norms. As an 8-year-old, I was one of the only kids in my grade who struggled with school, attendance and anxiety so it made me mature much quicker than my peers.
  • Transitioned from Elementary to Middle School

Transitioned from Elementary to Middle School

I transitioned from Ellwood school which I had been at for grades 1-5, to Allan Drive Middle School for grades 6-8. This was a huge transition for me since I had just got comfortable at Ellwood with all the teachers and students and then I had to move to a bigger school with a combination of schools all around Bolton. This was a big change for me because again, I had gone from the normal cohort that I knew and was comfortable with a bunch of new peers, teachers and surroundings.
  • Started High school at Humberview!

This was a big transition for me because it was a lot of change going from Allan Drive Middle School to a huge high school.
  • Started Working

    Started Working

I have been dog walking since I was 13 but I started working consistently between dog walking and babysitting 5 days a week when I turned 17. I have always liked working and making my own money but this year I was able to find a family I love to babysit for and work on a consistent schedule. This was an example of a family institution because it was an extension of my family and people who are close to me which I'm so thankful for.
  • Got a car and Getting my License!

Got a car and Getting my License!

Since I have been working, I can afford to make monthly payments on a vehicle and I was fortunate enough to know someone who was selling a Ford Edge for a great price! This was a big life event for me because it was something I've always looked forward to and I put it off for a year due to nerves so I was very proud of myself for moving forward.
