Leadership: From Start to Finish

  • The Beginning

    The Beginning
At my internship, they have developed a smooth style of leadership which, in my opinion, starts with organization. To showcase the leadership I have received, I will use the example of the masquerade event I created the flyer for. In the beginning, I was given instructions on what was to be on it, the due date, and an example of this masquerade flyer/invite. My creation was set to use gold and maroon, though. After that, I was set free to create whatever I wanted.

    The Beginning and End

  • London!

    London!
Just a side note in the process that has little to do with leadership and a lot to do with allowing me to go on holiday to London! Sidenote over.
  • At It Again

    At It Again
I had a blast in London (look at how happy I look!) which quickly turned to melancholy when back in the States. Today was the day I had to get back to work. While on holiday, I had kept in contact about changing details for the event so when I was back, I was ready to get the flyer finished.
  • The Edit

    The Edit
This was a copy of the first flyer I handed in for the event. It was amazing because they allowed me the freedom to create what I wanted before trying to edit it. This type of leadership garners respect. Instead of trashing an idea from the beginning, they let me explore it creativly and when I was done, then we talked about the changes they would like to see made.
  • The End

    The End
After a few days at editing (this included going through 500+ fonts individually with my boss), we turned out a completely better design while still keeping intact my original vision. Overall, the leadership style was perfect. I had clear directions, freedom to explore, and then the eye and education of my mentor to turn my work into something better. And there you have it! The flyer used for promoting the event!
