  • Mom Gets Her Citizenship

    Mom Gets Her Citizenship
It was in the city and I was about five years old. I remember seeing the happy face on my mom. She had a different hair do then but she held up her certificate and looked at the camera. Every time someone went up to the camera or got called everyone in the room including the staff would cheer for them. This was a huge moment in my life because this meant that my mom could now live legally in this country and I wouldn't have to think about anything unfortunate should happen to her in the future.
  • I Become an Aunt for the Second Time

I Become an Aunt for the Second Time
I was already an aunt from the moment I was conceived. My oldest nephew is two years older than me. So obviously I don't recall that experience of him being born. But, in 2010 my second nephew was born. He was so small and I loved him immediately. Though he was so annoying in his toddler years now he's in elementary school and growing and big now. It's just crazy to see him and look at him when he was a small human being to how he looks now.
  • Concert Time

    Concert Time
It was my first One Direction concert and I was thrilled. I had gone to other concerts before for other artists but none of them compare to One Direction's. There was nothing groundbreaking about their performance other than the fact that it's them. Just the fact that it was them made this concert better than my past ones. I was there seeing the loves of my life for now 6 years. I had physically seen them for the first time. They're here and they're real. Flesh and bones and all.
  • Zayn Leaves One DIrection

    Zayn Leaves One DIrection
When I got home from school everything changed. My dad was the one who told me that Zayn had left the band. I thought he was joking. As I was going to my room I was reading the letter by Zayn. I cried from the first sentence. I was in such denial thinking maybe it's just an April Fools joke but I knew it wasn't. The next day I had school and everyone was telling me it was no big deal. That I'm overreacting. I learned then that a horrible day for me is any other day for someone else.
  • One DIrection Take a Hiatus

    One DIrection Take a Hiatus
They decided to take a break for a while so they could do their own things for a bit. They said it would end in June of this year. But, now it's august and they're not back. Thankfully I'm fine and I'm not sobbing and weeping. It's only happened twice but I'm ok. I learned from when Zayn left that everything's going to be fine and I am. The Boys, as I like to call them are all doing their own music and Zayn too and I'm so proud of them so if they're happy so am I.
  • I Go to Europe

    I Go to Europe
I still can't believe I went to Europe. During the summer last year I went to three countries in Europe. It was my first time traveling to somewhere other than El Salvador and Canada. I learned a lot about different cultures and saw just how big the world is and how small we are. There's so much to see and I'm glad that I went and explored these countries I have always wanted to go to.
  • K-Pop!

    K-Pop!
I never thought I would like k-Pop because it's foreign and I don't understand what they're saying and so on. I have never really listened to foreign music before. I do listen to Hispanic music but I personally don't consider it foreign for me because I am Hispanic and I speak the same language. I have learned a couple things about Korea from the group I like. I also learned that even though I don't know the language we can all hum along to the same beat because music is a universal language.
