  • Car Accident

    Car Accident
I was in the back seat with my two brothers, my mom was driving on Brewster Hill Road, it was a rainy day. We were driving down the road and a Levine Auto Parts delivery truck came around a bend on our side of the road. My mom swerved out of the way and at the last second the truck swerved but still hit us on the side of the car. We pulled over and my mother called 911 when the driver of the other truck came to check on us. Nobody was seriously injured.
  • Getting Stuck in Grand Central

    Getting Stuck in Grand Central
My parents had bought tickets to a New York Rangers game in the city before news hit about the ‘historical’ snow storm of the 2011 Halloween Nor’easter. After the game, my family walked into Grand Central where there were hundreds of people staring at the board which was covered in delays. We waited for 5 hours until the train going to White Plains was no longer delayed, and we decided to get on that one and figure out a way to get to Brewster.
  • First College Visit

    First College Visit
My first college visit was to the Southern New Hampshire University with my oldest brother and the rest of my family. It really gave me a good feel of how college life would feel, even though I was four years away from even looking at colleges. I remember that my brother did not really like the college, however I found it amazing, mainly because it was the first one I had seen.
  • Visiting Cornell

    Visiting Cornell
I visited Cornell University on the school trip run by Jordi Douglas. The most memorable part of the trip was when on one of the days, it was snowing hard, and we went to the campus, and I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Once again, much like my first visit, I was amazed. The idea of staying at a college like this during the winter season was exhilarating, as it had such a beautifully peaceful way about it.
  • First Job

    First Job
My first job was at the Red Rooster Drive-In, where I worked cleaning dishes and changing garbages. The reason this is important to me is because it made me realize how much I actually liked working. I enjoyed having something to do all the time, which although sometimes the work tiring, it was never too much to handle.
  • Climbing Whiteface

    Climbing Whiteface
My father had to go on a business trip, but the trip was for families too, so he brought everybody. It was to Lake Placid in upstate New York, deep into the Adirondacks. One of the few things there that I really enjoyed there was when we drove up Whiteface Mountain, one of the mountains used for the skiing events in the 1982 Winter Olympics. At the very top was a small castle, where, from there, you could see the mountain range extending for miles all the way to the horizon.
  • Kayaking on Lake Placid

    Kayaking on Lake Placid
Me and my older brother decided to go kayaking on Lake Placid early in the morning. While I found the idea of going anywhere near deep water terrifying, I decided I wanted to do it anyway. My decision was very wrong, as I found it very terrifying. But sitting on the lake with an early morning breeze was extremely nice and relaxing, and for a few seconds I would forget that I was floating on the water in which I had no clue what was lurking underneath.
