  • That Damn Frisbee

    That Damn Frisbee
Recess was coming to an end. Everyone was lining up an I was running to be the line leader. I made it and everyone had to stand behind me like I was the queen. As we're waiting for the rest of the kids I realized I left my new, real fur all white hello kitty vest on the floor . So I was walking over to get it but some boys had been throwing a frisbee back and forth. As I was reaching down to get it the frisbee appears out of nowhere and knocked my front teeth back and my dentist pulled them out.
  • split my pants

    split my pants
I was with my grandma and cousin and were just goofing off like usual. I'm always the one being extra and the daredevil and they were saying I wasn't flexible. I had to prove them wrong of course. So I went down into a split and then I heard a ripping noice and got an odd breeze. My grandma and my cousin were laughing hysterically . I didn't really start laughing until I looked down and saw a rip in my favorite onesie and my dora undies.
  • WAVE POOL

    WAVE POOL
I was in Colorado for the summer and me and my aunt along with two cousins were going to this water park/ amusement park called "Elitches". I've always loved water parks and I've always been a pretty great swimmer. We went to the water section first and Donovan and Jared (cousins) went in the water so I followed them. We're chilling until the waves cut on and I can't keep up with them anymore. The waves were pretty strong compared to little old me. It sucked me under..
  • Picking which parent should have custody

Picking which parent should have custody
I was away in Colorado for the summer and my mother called me. I had no idea what was going on but she sounded serious. I was just listening to what she was saying and didn't ask any questions because this was the nightmare that finally came true. It was time. I had to speak with a lawyer and tell her which parent was a better fit.
  • Period: to

    NJHS

I grew up in Westchester and the education compared to up here in Brewster was way different. I was one of the smart kids in my school because only a handful of us were in the National Junior Honor Society. Unlike Brewster we didn't have to write a letter or essay to be accepted into it, we were just picked based on our academic performance. I finally made it. I was very proud of myself and happy that I didn't let my personal life influence my school life.
  • Pinocchio

    Pinocchio
My dream growing up was always to be an actress. I've went to acting school, always done all the skits in class and never had enough time too try out for the play. I always put myself down and said I wasn't good enough. Then finally I stayed after school with the Drama Club when Mrs. Budzynski dropped that huge script on my desk and gave everyone a certain line to read. Auditions were the next week... and I got a narrator. That's a start eh?
  • rejection by acting manager

    rejection by acting manager
There she was sitting at her desk in a small office that seemed huge at the moment. She had a million papers on her table and it seemed like she couldn't be bothered with little old me. I was nervous but I was almost a master at hiding it. She took my name and gave me a paper and told me to to memorize and come back in the room in 5 minutes. I kept reading it over and over again. I walked back in and gave it my best shot and she turned me down.
  • Permed my hair

    Permed my hair
A stereotypical black girl is perceived to have no hair or "nappy" hair. I always had hair but I hated my natural texture and I never knew how to take care of it. My mom and grandma have been perming their hair most of my life and thtey both have fairly long hair "for black women". So my granny sugeested I get one and at first it seemed like a good idea because I didn't have to worry about sweating out my hair and all that but then there were random bald spots. ABORT MISSION
  • Common Core Geometry Regents

    Common Core Geometry Regents
Well to summarize my sophomore year math class... It sucked! It was the worst year I ever had in math, adding to the fact that I hated math anyway. There was never a day the lesson just clicked. I was always a "what wait" type of thing. So I got a tutor and I was that close to passing but I failed by two points with a 63!
  • Making the softball team

    Making the softball team
Let's just say, I wasn't supposed to really be on the team. I tried out, I was horrible (never played) but my character is what got me in there honestly. After they sent out the list of who made the team and didn't I emailed the coach and asked her what I had to do in order to improve for the next try outs next year and she told me I could be on the team because I was dedicated and I had a great attitude! BOOM WHAAAT!
