    This unit in woodworking, we did our jigsaw puzzles. We started the unit with our little friend, the coping saw. We learned the parts of the coping saw, which is the Handel, the frame, the toe nuvin, the heel nuvin, and the blade. We then took apart and put back together the coping saw, which was a challenge that we eventually mastered. We then began using our cross cutting saws to cut out four 4 ¼ inch pieces of our wood.   • Animal Napkin Holders

    This unit in Woodworking, we did Animal Napkin Holders. We started with our crosscutting saw, and cut 4 ¼ inch pieces of wood. It was fun, but in familiar waters. We then got a demo for relief cuts using a coping saw from Mr. Donald. It looked really, really hard and challenging at first, but once I got into it the relief cuts themselves were actually easier than the jigsaw puzzles! It was a little harder when we cut on the line between the relief cuts with the coping saw, but not much harder. T
  • Oven Push/Pull

    This unit in woodshop, we did our oven push/pulls. It is a grand summary of all of the skills that we have learned so far in woodworking class. We started like we do on all of the projects; a big block of wood, and a crosscutting saw. I helped cut out the 14¼ inch pieces of wood for my table.
