Abuses of the Catholic Church
Around this time the Catholic Church was abusing their power and people didn’t realize it yet. The church takes peoples money just so they can use it for themselves. They also say you can go to heaven if you fallow there religion obviously they were not the ones who decided that. Some people were mad for sure but they didn’t want to speak out because they were afraid of getting excommunicated. -

Martin Luther & 95 Theses
Martin Luther nails his 95 Theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg. It is the first public act of the Reformation. He does this because he simply doesn’t like what the Catholic Church is doing by abusing their power. He wrote the 95 Theses about what the Catholic Church was doing wrong. He did get some followers to help him out. -

Luther's Ideas/Lutheran Religion
Because of Martin Luther’s actions he had gotten excommunicated from the Catholic Church. Martin didn’t care because he didn’t like them anyways. Martin had so many followers that he made up a new religion that would be fair and wouldn’t abuse there powers like the Catholic Church did. Martin called it the Lutheran Church. -

John Calvin
Around this time John Calvin Has noticed that there were 2 religions Catholic and Lutheran. He wanted his own religion called Calvinism. He believed that women should have more rights and also he believed that Jesus Christ was the one who decides if you go to heaven or not. -

The English Reformation/Henry VIII
Henry the 8th had 6 wife’s two of them were killed. Henry was mad at the Catholic Church because he kept getting girls and no boys and the Catholic Church wouldn’t let him divorce. Henry then made the Church of England so that he could be the ruler and get a divorce. He had boys but they had all died and one of his daughters took the throne when he died. -

Henry VII became the owner and the ruler of the Church of England. He wanted this because he was mad at the catholic church so he made this religion. -

Elizabeth the 1st/Church of England
Mary died and Elizabeth was next in line for the throne. Elizabeth thought the Church of England was doing better then the Catholic Church and made a reform for the church that said they were not getting any of England’s people to fallow them because of there unfair ways. This was the start of the reformation of the Catholic Church. -
Catholic Reformation
The Catholic Church agrees that they have been unfair and foolish. They asked people to join the Catholic religion again and they would tell them all the truths and no lies. People from England wanted to join the normal Catholic religion again but bad things happened when they tried to leave. -
Killings or Persecutions of people
Lots of people were killed in england trying to go back to the Catholic religion because they still didnt trust the Catholic Church and they killed anyone who tryed to go back. sooner or later Religion didnt matter as much and people could choose what religion they wanted to be.
