United Nations Partition plan
The UN General Assembly voted on the partition plan, with 33 votes to 13 with 10 abstentions. The Jewish side accepted the UN plan for the establishment of two states. The Arabs rejected it and started a war of annihilation against the Jewish state. -

On February 25, 1994, Baruch Goldstein [an American immigrant to Israel and a member of the Jewish Defense League] walked into the Ibrahim Mosque at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. As he entered, Goldstein opened fire at the kneeling worshipers, killing 29 wounding at least 125 unarmed Palestinians. After finally running out of ammunition, he was hit over the head with a fire extinguisher and beaten to death by survivors of the massacre. -
