    Islam grew swiftyly after Muhammad's passing.. The development of local dynasties took place to include: The Abbasids-ruling Baghdad from 750 to 1258 and some of Cairo from 1261 to 1517, The Umayyads- ruling in Spain from 756 to 1031, and the Fatimids- ruling Egypt from 909 to 1171.
