    First Persian Empire created

    In 550 B.C the first Persian empire was created spanning the entirety of modern Iran. But at greatest extent spans to the Aegean sea to modern day India.

    Arab takeover

    In 636 B.C the Arabs invade spreading Islam across the region.
  • Mar 7, 1220

    Mongol invasion

    In 1220 the Mongols led under Ghengis Khan invades Iran.

  • Final recognization

    Formally known as Persia Iran becomes the name we know today.
