  • Cotton Gin

    Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin making it easier to harvest cotton.This was available in the Southern area during slavery.This machine changed society because it brought in money and helped harvest cotton a way lot easier and faster.
  • Telegraph

    John Watkins Brett created the telegraph.Telegraphs helped get important messages across the world. They were like the computers we have today.This telegraph was needed because the president or governor neede to get in contact with each other especially around war time.This changed society because it helped get a lot of information across the world.
  • Machine Gun

    George Barnes machine gun. The machine guns helped those that fought in the army. This became a good inevntion and new weapon to use while fighting in the army.This invention was needed so that the soldiers could win the battle.This changed society because it put a spin on the battles fought in the army and any other fights.
  • Light Bulb

    Thomas Edison invented the light bulb.The light bulb helps operate different things like the street lights and lights we have around schools and homes.The light bulb helps to light up dark areas.This invention was needed because there were many car problems being that there were no street lights. This helped society because now children don`t have to scared at night. There are also less accidents on the streets/ roads thanks to the light bulb.This invention is still available all over the world.

    John P. Holland created the first submarine.The submarine helped many sail across the ocean and it also helped gun man shoot up to three hundred yards.This changed society because now people had away to sail on the water besides going on a hand paddled boat.
