    Robert Fulton invented the submarine in France. He desired undersea travel and in his first test the Nautilus dove 25 feet under the ocean.

    The steamboat was invented by Robert Fulton who saw a need to transport people from New York City and Albany and set up a business doing so. He called the steamnoat the North River Steamboat.
