Shipbuilding
One of the earliest pieces of the Industrial Revolution in the U.S. was the quick advancements in shipbuilding. From naval power to trading the U.S. grew powerful in the world economy quickly. This meant that numerous shipyards and ports would be built simulating trade. -
1750's skilled labor
Other new skilled labor such as blacksmiths, carpenters and painters would start to arise stimulating the job market creating more demand for the new products. -
First Textile Mill
The first textile mill opens in Pawtucket, Rhode Island giving way to the new factory style of industry and the mass production of cotton products. -
Cotton Gin
The cotton gin was invented allowing the mass collection of cotton at a cheaper and more efficient rate, in turn this raises the rate of production of cotton products and therefore rose the demand to be a part of the cotton industry in the U.S.
