    The Steam Engine was invented
    In 1690, French inventor Denis Papin used a steam engine to drive a paddle wheel boat in Eurpoe. The steam engine was used to power the steam boat and other means of transportation. In the 1830s, steamboats; which were powererd by steam engines; crowded the inland waterways of the United States. The invention of the steam engine allowed trains to go faster as well.
  • The Cotton Gin was invented

    The Cotton Gin was invented
    The cotton gin was created by Eli Whitney in 1793. The cotton gin was made to increase the time it took to produce cotton by the pounds. The cotton gin increased production spead from one pound a day to fifty pounds a day. It was created in Georgia to help with the requests of the plantation demands. The cotton gin enabled a laborer to separate a lot of cotton from the seeds with little effort. The cotton gin did the seperating that the laborers usually did, but faster and more efficent.

    The Fulton's Steamboat was invented
    Robert Fulton made a successful steamboat in France in 1804. The invention of the steamboat allowed more and more boats to travel farther. In 1807 he launched the Clermont for a thirty-hour voyage from New York City to Albany and back on the Hudson River. And four years later Fulton sent the New Orleans from Pittsburgh down the Ohio and Mississippi rivers . The invention of the steamboat grew greatly in America in the middle of the nineteenth century. The steamboat helped people travel faster.

    The Telegraph was invented
    In 1837, Samuel F. B. Morse created the telegraph in Morristown, New Jersey. It consisted of a series of towers with arms for making signals, and telescopes for seeing the arms between cities. The telegraph improved not only the quality of communication but the speed of it as well. The telegraph came in hand very much in the Civil War especially for the Union side.
  • Light Bulb was invented

    Light Bulb was invented
    The light bulb was created by Thomas Edison in 1876, in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Edison also invented the improved incandescent lightbulb. The lightbulb was used to light houses not just more efficently but safer. Before the use of lightbulbs people used gas or candle light to light their houses. The invention of the lightbulb made it safer and there was less fires resulting from this invention. The lightbulb was able to burned continuously for forty hours.
