    10,oo Indians gathered to protest and nearly 400 Indians died. This event triggered India's want for complete independence from Great Britain.

    Rise of Gandhi
    Gandhi rose up and started leading indepence acts in India. Without Gandhi taking charge the pathway to independence for India would have been much longer and much more violent.
  • World War II Strikes

    World War II Strikes
    The United Kingdom declares war on Germany. This war will ultimately lead to India's independence because of the stress on Britain.

    At the end of World War II Britiain could no longer keep India, and in 1947 India divided into 2 independent nations.

    India's constitution was completed. India declared democracy, they had a supreme court, and a mostly independent press throwing India into more modern ways.

    A short war was fought between the two nations. There wasn't really a winner, but the fight was over borders.

    Politics is a mess in India. The BJP is a coalition that is in power for 13 days until another one takes over. Elections and re-elections take place and eventually the BJP stays in power but with a Prime Minister

    India is giving it's support to the UN for a Sri Lanka resolution. After years of being against the Brits, India is now siding with the UN for the betterment of other southeastern nations.
