    *The most favored king was the king ashoka who once believed in military purposes, but then converted to buddhism which showed him to conquer through teachings not military.
    *After Ashoka's reign the empire slowly fella apart till the Gupta empire took charge

    Gupta Empire

    Gupta Empire
    320-500 CE
    *The Gupta empire did enforce Ashoka's policies, but did not follow his lead when it came to peaceful war. They went back to relying on military force.
    *The Gupta army was made up of arches with elephant, horses, and foot soldiers and had great success. Agriculture also helped with success along with peace and prosperity.
    *The End of this empire was from the invasion of the White Hans. They took control of northern India- This Led to the splitting of India into small kingdoms

    *Mughals were muslim turks with ethnic roots in central Asia. The Mughals empire was based around a centralized government and military.
    *The founder of this dynasty was Babur who ended up conquering most of northern India

    *In 1612 East India opened up a trading post on India’s northwest coast.This brought in lots of raw materials. Sepoys are Indian soldiers who are run by british officers and this is showing that not only trade, but armies are also ran by the British government.
    *By the 1850 the East trading company as even more powerful than the emperor themself. The company was controlling 60% of India now.

    *"A sphere of influence is an area within which the political and economic interests of one nation influence other nations¨ This led the Brittash who has a very powerful navy to enable a plan to dominate the continent.
    *A great rebellion soon broke out against the British and India armies. The brittash eventually dominated their political and economic lives along with throwing out their beliefs and culture.

    India's independence from the British started when the British split up the very populated city of bengal as it was becoming too hard to govern. Many angered by this event planned time to boycott british goods. Hindus eventually were able to undo the split in Bengal, but the British was still in charge. Muslims were starting to doubt their relationship with the british. Tension between the british and India were set aside for World war 1. Mohandas Gandhi then helped India gain its Independence.

    *Pakistan and India were both part of British empire so didn't gain independence until 1947. Most of Pakistan's population is muslim so they wanted to become a separate muslim state this led to some huge problems. During the cross when muslims went to pakistan and Hindus and Sikhs went to India great violence erupted.
    *Another problem was the separation of Pakistan into two parts. This was hard for their nations unity.
